hair;; buckskin and blond

general appearance;; Usually the first thing noticible on a woman, especially a pretty woman, is her eyes or her breasts. Not Alanna. No, the first thing that one will notice about Alanna is that she has the body of a horse and the torso of a beautiful brunette woman. Her only clothing, weather permitting, is a single band of leather just wide enough to cover her breasts and tie around her back. As far as weapons go, she has two swords, custom made to fit her size that strap to her barel. In times of need, she will wear a blanket over them. Her light brown pelt and hair color are the same, giving a natural look about something very unatural. She's part horse for crying out loud.

general personality;; Alanna's temper is about as long as a tree limb cut off at the trunk. In other words, she hasn't got one. It takes near nothing to set her off, and her bite and her bark are about equal in ferocity. She has no qualms ripping a head from its body for that is normal where she comes from. Alanna is not evil, but she does have a very high sense of pride and honor. However, that does not mean she cannot curb her tongue or actions when the time is needed. If she couldn't, she wouldn't make a very good ambassador, would she? No, Alanna has managed to -- though not exactly control her temper -- to use it to her own advantage.

history;; It is difficult at best to explain a creature's background or even persona to someone who has never heard of the creature to begin with. As a centaur ambassador, it would be best if Alanna gave her own introduction.
" There are many common misconceptions about my kind. One of these is that we have the mind of a horse and can therefor be domesticated like a farm animal. Obviously, this is incorrect. The centaur brain is not exactly the same as the human one. We were blessed by our high god with the ability to control two bodies at once. Our larger nervous system requires a bit more depth in the brain. Another inacurate assumption is that our stallions rape human women becuase our own females are incapable of having young in our form. I am happy to inform you that both of my parents are centaurs and they look somewhat like me.
A few stereotypes are true, however. For instance, we can communicate with equines. Horses are considered slaves to my race. They are of the same build but a far lower intelligence level. Many will submit to our will simply because they see us as a lead no matter our rank within our kind. Humans, in my homeland, are considered equals. They bow before a centaur king, but that is only becuase we settled the land first and the royalty line is centaur. Also, by most of the calculations of the people I have met in both the elven and human kingdoms, my people are barbaric. How this can be true, I am at a loss.
We have hardly any crime at all. This is most likely becuase our laws are extremely lax. What you consider murder, the Decessians call justice. Revenge runs the justice system. Therefor, family conflicts can last for generations. We do not war with each other nor our surrounding countries and we do not kill in a dishonorable way. Challenges are given and met, usually resulting in the death of one of the participants. Also, we have not homeless children. When our foals are born, they are cared for by their parents for their first fifteen years. The penalty for mistreating a foal is extreme. The occurance is so rare that I cannot think of a case. "
Where Alanna is from, she is considered an adult for her kind do not live quite so long as humans. 15 is considered old enough to make one's own choices in Court. However, Alanna is slightly young to be a foreign ambassador. This is probably because she was the only one gutsy enough to come to this hellforged place. When the king, her cousin, asked his noble subjects if there were any vaulunteers to go across the sea, no one raised a hand. With a prod in her back by her father, Alanna reluctantly lifted her arm. The king smiled broadly and sent her packing. Alanna didn't particularly think that they were intentionally trying to get rid of her, but she didn't really want to go back either. The sea ride made her sick.
When the girl horse got to this side of the world, things were very different. For one, she was the only 'halfbreed' -- as the humans called her -- that had ever been seen. Of course, in her homeland there were people, horses, and centaurs and she has had to explain time and again that she is not some mythical being, nor did she piss someone with power off. Granted, there is the fact that sometimes she's more horse than girl, but that is to be expected. In the two years she has been on this soil, she has met and spoken to most, if not all, royalty as well as a great number of the higher ups. Two years is a long time when one has nothing else to do. As an ambassador, she has spent a great many days in Ellesmera, Ilirea, and Carvalla. She is even slowly losing her ties to her birthplace and has begun to call this contenent her home. She's not sure if she'll ever be able to leave these people with their stupid war.
When she was a child, her parents were particularly careful with her. She was always a bit of a wild child, forcing not only her mother but much of the court to keep an eye on her. However, the couple were able to show the young Alanna their love and affection for her entire life. She knew that they were molding her into a court lady, but that didn't make her resent them. Afterall, her grandfather and the king's father were brothers. She grew up in the palace. She still misses her sire and dam, but that pain has dulled to an ache. Her emotional bonds to her birthplace are slowly slipping out of her grasp. At times it leaves her feeling homeless, but that wave of self-pity is usually quickly dispelled from her mind.
come on let's show them your love
