Hello everyone! This is super early, but it's a long absence, so I'm gonna let you know now. I am going to Peru for ONE MONTH. I leave between August 2nd and 4th and will not return until September 4th. Some of you may demand I use the hotel internet to post for my many threads. But soft, I will not BE in a hotel.
Emma is going to Peru as a volunteer to assist with a pack of biologists on the mighty Madre de Dios River. She will be living in a research facility with no phone, laundry, or internet, and will spend most of her days climbing mountains or sloshing through the jungle, assisting in counting the wildlife and also taking care of the rescued animals in the rehabilitation center. Baby turtles and butterflies are also involved. This also includes feeding an adult female jaguar and scanning for poachers. Besides those two tasks, Emma will have to deal with caimans, anacondas, tarantulas, piranhas, etc, so she might, you know, die.
Provided she DOESN'T die, Emma will make trips to town during the weekends. However, she would rather spend the weekends exploring Inca temples and going to exotic restaurants rather than paying $40 for half an hour of internet at some seedy cafe. And she has to do her laundry and call her mom. But she DOES promise to provide an update at least halfway through the month. If not, that means she was eaten by something.
Annnnnd on top of which, Emma leaves for university literally the day after she returns from Peru. She'll be unpacking, going to hard science classes, and getting used to living in a small town for most of September, even though she'll have internet access.
I realize how irritating this must be, especially since I'll be handling two plots, that I'm going to be gone- especially so soon after the site was reborn. But for the bigger threads (New Queen, Walked the Earth, Striking the Heart, and the Riders' upcoming thread), I'll work something out so that all who RP with me can skip over me a few times. As for my one or two person threads, those will have to be put on hold. Until then, I promise to post as fast as I am able- which isn't that fast in the first place, BUT I WILL TRY. After that, I don't have any big trips planned for like, two years, and my schedule will be more normal.
I'll post on this thread again a week before I leave as a reminder. I'll miss all of you!
