Name:
Arisato Cain
Age:
17
Race:
Human
Allegiance:
Broddring
Physical Description:
Arisato stands approximately 6’ tall, and he is generally described as slight for his height. Long and slim probably would be used to describe him in that way, not terribly strong but agile with a long stride. He is well known for an extremely fashionable style of clothing and personable at best, eccentric at worst. Currently, that generally involves a classic, clean white dress shirt with a dark blue dress jacket over it, usually left open and with his shirt (mostly) tucked into his identically colored dark blue pants. He has a belt for the pants, a black leather belt with simple clasp that is somewhat overshadowed by the white sword scabbard and belt hanging on his hips. His skin is white, somewhere between the pale skin of a noble and the tan skin of one who spends a lot of time outside, almost symbolic of his status in a way, and is topped off with extremely light blue almost gray eyes and hair that has been let go to look “fashionably” messy around his face and dyed a dark blue, only slightly brighter than the clothes on his back, the clothes traditional to offset his hair, at least that is what he would tell you if asked.
Personality:
Arisato is often, extremely often, described as “all style and no substance” to most people when he is not around. If the questioner is someone who hasn’t met him before, that is the description brought out first. The trick to that is that is absolutely 100% true. Born into a household rich enough to live in the Hightown of Carvala, but not strictly a nobleman of any amount, he grew up in an environment of the grossest excess and judgement was passed down swiftly by those petty rich and noble that so often crowd the streets of capitals. Thus, to keep up, he was determined to outstrip them in every possible category. He was intentionally fashionable, and intentionally flashy in his actions, growing into someone who outspent, outstyled, and outplayed those around him in his teenage years. His life of school and “gentlemanly” training ensured that he was intelligent and classically trained, learning varying amounts of music, art, speechcraft, and fencing, but the way he used such usually beneficial teachings was simply to one up those around him, causing him to consider little else in his surroundings. He is easily immature for his age in those ways, although reasonably able to function outside of the household and without the minimal family influence in the strictest sense. His actions seem like they would lead to impulsive actions, but only from an outsider’s perspective. Most often his actions and words are tailored to the audience and desired effect almost obsessively. This results in him reacting to a new environment and crowd reserved by his standards, acting confident with a leaning towards cocky but decidedly less flashy than normal, at least until he acclimates to the area.
History:
Arisato’s life is a tale of wealth and all of its excesses, born into a merchant’s family of incredible wealth, wealth enough to buy into the Hightower district of the Broddring Capital of Carvala and live their greatest desires. He was raised largely by his mother, as his father was busy running the trading empire that fueled their lifestyle, and was therefore largely without restriction or punishment, as that was traditionally the father’s domain. This meant that Arisato gravitated towards the youngsters of the area, and spent much of his time with them. This was both a good and a bad thing. Socialization is always a good thing for any child, however the crowd in the area was of classically noble background. While they were young children, this hardly made a difference, only manifesting in differing amounts of gaudy decoration and various servants and foods while they were little children, things changed as they grew older and were taught the prejudices of their parents. Soon, the children began to only gather in the more noble houses, and they began to develop a pecking order based upon nobility and class. By class, they really meant money. This left Arisato and a few children like him, either poor minor nobility or extremely rich commoners, mostly merchantmen like Arisato, at the bottom of this food chain.
Being born of his father, a man with drive and ambition enough to raise his family to such heights, Arisato was bound to take this as a challenge to rise up against.
To fight back against this pecking order, he fought back with extreme excess for children. Despite being the least noble of the group, he had one of the largest purses as many of the noble families had more in belongings but less in pure liquid capital than Arisato’s family, and he made sure they all knew it. He bought the newest, finest clothing, the freshest and most coveted foods, and the most finely crafted jewelry and steel. He was accepted into the schools that were reserved mainly for the children of the noble, and forced himself to excel at the classes, whether it was traditional learning, arts, music, or fencing and archery. While this allowed him to truly overcome his peers, he did it in the most obnoxious way, and while he was generally accepted as one of the most skilled or intelligent in the groups he was apart of, he was also forced to the fringe as he was deemed uppity or just plain annoying, generally not included in anything but the most public or large scale activities. This was not Arisato’s intention, and he took the wrong feedback from this, deciding to strive even further, spend even more, and try even harder to ingratiate himself and be accepted instead of looked down upon. This became a vicious circle as the harder he tried, the more he was pushed away from all but an extremely small amount of his peers, one or two becoming close to him despite his faults. He did not notice that so much, and now he is about to graduate from one of the city’s most prestigious academies and enter his father’s business, where he intends to become so large, so influential and vital to the market and city that he will no longer be ignored.
