Name: Luex Eupe Vounael
Age: 11
Race: Human
Occupation: Priestess
Allegiance: Fa'ual
Physical Description: Luex is undoubtedly small for her age standing at four feet and one inch. Her cheeks are full and rosy standing out against her deathly pale skin like drops of blood in the snow.
Her face still slightly rounded from baby fat looks almost hollow against her head of soft snowy hair that spilled across her small shoulders neatly every strand falling into place. Long bangs drifted down to cover her innocent blue eyes looking large compared to the rest her small face.
She prefers to clothe herself in a variety of high collared dresses all sporting long sleeves covering her wrists and a full skirt covering her knees. Soft silken gloves cover her hands, and high socks and practical leather boots cover her feet. No skin is exposed besides for her face and if she could she would cover it with a mask.
Odd runes cover her skin from head to toe, curling and curving along her bonestructure. From afar they are undetectable, the silvery markings melded with her skin. But in the dark the strange writing glows giving her an almost ghostly look.
Attached to her back are a pair of delicate wings the membrane a soft midnight blue with transparent veining. They stay bound to her back with bandages, too weak to carry her and drawing too much unwanted attention when left out.
Personality: Luex is a quiet child full of opinions and ideas yet never given the opportunity to express them. Being born as the second child it was her responsibility to become a priestess her people was proud of. She spends all of her time working diligently to fulfill those expectations holding the weight of her countries troubles and fears on her small shoulders.
She loves flowers, and lace, and soft rabbits and the like as many other girls her age do. Yet she is afraid to do anything other than what is approved of as recreation much of which involves meditation after meditation.
Living in seclusion all of her life the outside world frightens her as the unknown does to every life form. Yet her worst fear is being left alone somewhere unfamiliar to her not knowing what she should do or say.
History: Luex from the moment of her birth was designated as a Priestess of the Spirits, her body and soul dedicated to the communication between the two sides of the Veil. It was commonly believed that the that the spirits were the essence of life, everything containing life having a spirit. The weaker spirits require forms to contain them or be absorbed by the essence of the stronger spirits.
Though there is no limit on the number of spirits existing an coming into existence the most prominent ones are believed to have existed since the beginning of time. Ohlam is the spirit of the world and beyond, it exists everywhere and is the strongest spirit overshadowing any other.
Under Ohlam lay Ohr the spirit of light holding power wherever there is light, and Choshech the spirit holding power wherever there is darkness.
Under Chochech there lay fewer spirits than there do under Ohr, mainly spirits of rocks and things that do not hold forms like Mayim the spirit of water and Ruach the spirit of the wind.
Ohr having the most spirits in its domain lies divided between two more spirits Ohratz of the land and Shamayim of the sky.
Spirits are drawn to a person in many ways, emotional connections are the most foolproof way. Yet calling them through a rune related to them is the safest way as emotions are not always stable. Drawing the rune and calling on one through the symbol keeps the spirit from possessing the body and becoming corrupted by emotions.
As the Priestess she spent much time and dedication towards reaching out to the spirits about. The more she meditated and tried to speak to them the more she changed. Her deep blue hair slowly faded to white and the ghost of wings that appeared whenever she breached the veil slowly formed on her back first as a glow and then into something of more substance. By the time she was nine they had fully formed the markings on her skin just starting to appear.
Most of her time was spent at the temple, situated across a river from the palace. Yet the revolt came as a great surprise, guards pounding on the gate and taking her to the harbor without a word or an explanation. Such things frightened her but she stayed as calm as a child of her age could be, in tears. Her brother quelled her fears on the boat, and she stuck close to him all the while not wanting to be alone.
Once the fateful storm struck everything in he mind was blank the terror overtaking her as she was thrown from the ship like a doll landing in the water slowly being dragged down into the watery depths.
She woke on a beach, alone and somehow alive though she could have sworn that she had drowned in the sea the overwhelming saltwater taste still on her lips.
