Sup errybody. WELCOME BACK. To try and fill the site with as much life as possible, I figured we should do some OOC stuff as well as IC.
So, it's been about a year and a half since Inheritance came out (and I think that's the general amount of time you have to wait before talking about it freely). After over ten years, thetrilogy cycle has come to an end, and CP has made it very, very clear that he intends to write a Book 5. I'm rather happy about this, even though I'm not the biggest fan of his writing, because I love the world and he left WAY too many loose ends at the end of Book 4.
Possible ideas mentioned by Paolini include the tale of Brom's life and/or a book set at the golden age of the Dragon Riders (which I'd totally read). He's confirmed that a book is in the process, and he even has a name for it. Here's everything CP has said on the subject of Book 5.
So, what's your opinion on the whole deal? Would you even be interested in reading another book? Personally, I think it's a major flaw that his books take so long to write. Eragon first came out in the 90s, didn't it? It's hard to get excited about a new series when you consider just how long it'll probably take. I'm also kind of ehh about the possibility of an epilogue to the original series. DX
But I'm really interested in the period before the Riders' Fall, as well as other lands surrounding Alagaesia. I also want to know about those two unnamed women in Brisingr and Inheritance (Saphira called one of them 'Blade-Singer') just because I'm so annoyed CP said NOTHING about them. And Angela's past, of course. I still think she's a half-elf.
