What I want to happen:
Eragon, Arya, Roran, Nasuada, Murtagh, Thorn, Saphira, Galbatorix, and basically everyone except Angela and Sloan die.
What will happen:
Eragon and Arya get a little....improper. Nasuada and Murtagh wind up together too. Thorn and Saphira. Galby dies. Roran becomes King and a model father and King. Sloan dies, and Angela disappears.

OH MY GOD! OHMYGOD! OHMYGOD!
What I want to happen:
Arya/Eragon Saphira/Arya's boy green dragon
aaaaandd....that's about it. I'm a huge shipper. And, honestly, guys? Christopher Paolini can get as old as he wants, but he grew up a homeschooler in, like, Montana, right? He probably spent 2 hours a day on school and then the rest of the time, sat in his room and made this stuff up. Eragon = Christopher Paolini, Arya = his fantasy girlfriend. They'll get together. And if not...my dad's got a pickup truck. It carries lots of stones. I'll pick you up, and we'll go find Chris.
HERE ARE THINGS THAT I AM CERTAIN OF. Greeni's Rider = Arya Angela = half-elf Galbatorix = dead Epic Romance = EragonxArya Important Elf Death = Islanzadi Vault of Souls = Eldunari hoard
What I really want to happen, but probably won't: - Every character except Solembum and Birgit die. Angela may be spared if we actually get information on her that isn't QUIRKYQUIRKYQUIRKY. - Wild dragons show up. THEY'RE HIDING IN THE SPINE, I'M TELLING YA - We find out exactly what's so freaky about the Spine. How could a moron like Eragon survive something half of Galby's army couldn't? - Shruikan eats Galby, then kills him. - A Grey Folk shows up. - Arya leaves Alagaesia with Eragon so someone diplomatically competent can become the next elven ruler. - Eragon and Saphira actually go FAR AWAY, not two miles offshore to Vroengard. - Despite being one of the few likeable characters, Obi-Wan Brom stays dead, and does not show up as a spiritual advisor to Luke Eragon. - Saphira gets with Shruikan. Age means nothing to a dragon!
Things I'm on the fence about: - either Roran or Nasuada become king/queen of the Empire. - Murtagh will die, or have a heel-face turn and end up with Nasuada. - Saphira gets with either Thorn or Greeni. If Arya's Greeni's Rider, though, that might be... creepy.

Wait.... Emma, wouldn't getting eaten by a dragon kill you to begin with?
Wash: "Yeah well, if she doesn't give us some extra flow from the engine room to offset the burn through, this landing is gonna get pretty interesting."
Mal: "Define interesting."
Wash: "Oh god oh god we're all gonna die?"
Mal: "This is the captain. We have a...little problem with our engine sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then...explode."

I think that every major character will die in one way or another, I just hope that Gslby dies slowly and painfully.

Emma, I'm almost getting the impression you're not a complete fangirl like me. -creepy look-
And here's what I think: The Spine is rumored to be the tail of a great dragon, right? It's Bid'Daum, the first Eragon's dragon. I'm sure of it. That's why all the creepy stuff happens there! Eragon's protected because of his name and destiny and all that crap. So Bid'Daum's gonna wake up and Eragon's gonna be like AH AM ERAGON! And Bid'Daum's gonna go "OH MAH GAWD." And he's gonna nom Galbatorix and his whole army and everything!
big war. arya become a rider and everybody celebrates. saphira mates with greeni and all is happy. though, aray dies by a magical flying arrow that kills her instantly and eragon will be uber depressed and dies by murtagh who comes out of nowhere. then, murty kills the kill somehow with the dragon and by some suicide mission, everyone dies except for the werecat, 'cause he's all too awesome to die.
My Opinion. *Galby get pwned *Shruken gets a bad case of dead *Murtagh either dies or joins the varden/gets with Nasuada. *Arya and Eragon will finally get together if eragon kils galby, *Vault of Souls = Eldunari cave *Brisgr (sword) = badass *Arya will probably be the new rider *Greeny and saphria will mate or the dragon's shall die out (having tried to beat the hell out of thorn that's not an option and it would be borderline pedophilic to have saphira and shrukien mate) *Also roran and Katrina become King/queen
Honestly, I don't know if Ayra will get Dragon, though it would be cool... I have a Haunch that Roran will get the next egg, since he does have good leadership abilities and also good Morals.
I don't think Ayra and Eragon will get together, though it would be awesome, I just don't think it will happen.
CP mentioned that the next Rider would be 'predictable' or something or other. I REALLY do NOT want Arya to be the next Rider, but I also do cause there have been NO female Riders, at all. I'm not even kidding, CP never even mentioned a female Rider in history.
Also, we know Greeni is a male because it was mentioned in the books. That's why Galby insisted Murtagh not kill Saphira, because she's the only one who can save the species. =3
And it would NOT be pedo for ShruikanxSaphira! After all, Eragon's madly lusting after Arya, and she refused him cause he's too immature for her (and we can't blame her). And plus dragons seem to be fully grown mentally as soon as they hatch, cause they have their parents' memories and whatnot. So the only thing impeding them would be size difference. o.o
Also, Kyou's description of Book 4 = win.
AND, I do honestly think Bid'Daum will make an appearance! He MUST be the Spine! Paolini seemed to spend a weird amount of time describing him (ESPECIALLY since all the other historical dragons got very little description or were even mentioned).
Also, what do you guys think of the red-eyed rabbits thing? It creeps me out... o.O Reminds me of that Rabid Rabbids game or w/e it's called.
AHEM AHEM AHEM. An excerpt of Inheritance's first chapter, Into the Breach, was released by Mr. Paolini. Here it is:
The sound was stabbing, slicing, shivering, like metal scraping against stone. Eragon’s teeth vibrated in sympathy, and he covered his ears with his hands, grimacing as he twisted around, trying to locate the source of the noise. Saphira tossed her head, and even through the din, he heard her whine in distress.
Eragon swept his gaze over the courtyard twice before he noticed a faint puff of dust rising up the wall of the keep from a foot-wide crack that had appeared beneath the blackened, partially destroyed window where Blödhgarm had killed the magician. As the squeal increased in intensity, Eragon risked lifting a hand off one ear to point at the crack.
“Look!” he shouted to Arya, who nodded in acknowledgment. He replaced his hand over his ear.
Without warning or preamble, the sound stopped.
Eragon waited for a moment, then slowly lowered his hands, for once wishing that his hearing was not quite so sensitive.
Just as he did, the crack jerked open wider—spreading until it was several feet across—and raced down the wall of the keep. Like a bolt of lightning, the crack struck and shattered the keystone above the door to the building, showering the floor below with pebble-sized rocks. The whole castle groaned, and from the damaged window to the broken keystone, the front of the keep began to lean outward.
“Run!” Eragon shouted at the Varden, though the men were already scattering to either side of the courtyard, desperate to get out from under the precarious wall. Eragon took a single step forward, every muscle in his body tense as he searched for a glimpse of Roran somewhere in the throng of warriors.
At last Eragon spotted him, trapped behind the last group of men by the doorway, bellowing madly at them, his words lost in the commotion. Then the wall shifted and dropped several inches, leaning even farther away from the rest of the building, pelting Roran with rocks, knocking him off balance and forcing him to stumble backward under the overhang of the doorway.
As Roran straightened from a crouch, his eyes met Eragon’s, and in his gaze, Eragon saw a flash of fear and helplessness, quickly followed by resignation, as if Roran knew that, no matter how fast he ran, he could not possibly reach safety in time.
What do you guys think? I seriously doubt Roran is actually dead. It just seems like CP released this bit to make the fans go "OMFG I MUST FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS NEXT". He might get like... a crazy wound or something that a) makes him a handicapped badass or b) sends Eragon on a side quest to save his life or something. But not dead. Although I'll be surprised if he IS.
But then again, Shurtugal.com gave me these confirmed facts:
General Book Facts •The series is referred to as Inheritance because of a story arch that spans all four novels: the entire series is about the younger generation (Eragon, Arya, Saphira, Nasuada, Roran, Orik, etc.) inheriting the roles and responsibilities of their parents. •Book 4 will feature a chapter entitled “Brains”. Green Rider and Green Dragon Facts •The green egg shell fragment mentioned in passing in Eldest was a coincidence and has nothing to do with the green dragon featured on the cover of Book 4. •The last dragon, known as the green dragon from the cover of Book 4, will be male. •Christopher does not think that Book 4 will be longer than Brisingr. •Readers can expect more chapters from Saphira’s point-of-view. •Readers can expect additional excerpts from Domia Abr Wyrda. Character Facts •Multiple new characters will be introduced in Book 4. •We will finally meet Galbatorix, who will have a much bigger presence in Book 4. •At one point in Book 4, Eragon finds himself tortured and chained within a dungeon (confirmed to not be Galbatorix’s dungeon). •Murtagh and Thorn will both appear in Book 4 more than in previous novels. •Murtagh and Nasuada’s relationship will be addressed in Book 4, however Christopher has noted that “Murtagh’s actions toward the Varden would have invalidated any feelings she (Nasuada) may have had.” •Angela will be involved with a Shade in Book 4, though the circumstances remain unknown. •Angela will play a large role in Book 4: “There is a lot more to Angela than meets the eye. If you like her, you’re in for a treat with Book Four. Angela gets several crowning moments of awesomeness therein.” •The two women Eragon blessed in Brisingr will return in some form in Book 4. •Some history or knowledge pertaining to the original Eragon and his dragon, Bid’Duam, will appear in Book 4. •The two elf children encountered in previous novels will play a role in Book 4. •Tenga will make a reappearance in the final book. Death Facts •Readers will experience an elvish death in Book 4. When asked if elves had unique ceremonies to commemorate fallen comrades, Christopher Paolini remarked that readers should read Book 4 to find out. •The possibility (or lack-thereof) of bringing Brom back to life will be addressed in Book 4. •A character will experience death by spikes in the final book. •There will be more than one death in the final book, some of which have caused Christopher to “shed a few tears.” •Eragon was revealed to still be alive after having written Eragon’s Guide to Alagaesia, which is set after the events of Book 4. This leads fans to believe that he survives the book. Magic and Weapons •The meaning of the name of Brom’s sword will be revealed. •We will discover more information about Eragon’s sword, Brisingr, and why it may set on fire when Eragon speaks its name. •Brom’s seven words will appear in Book 4. •Christopher has explained that true names will not be directly revealed to readers in Book 4. •Spirits will be revealed to have the ability to possess both humans and animals, opening the possibility for Shades of differing species. •A gedwëy ignasia’s ability to sense danger before it happens – an ability referenced throughout Eragon – will again return in Book 4. Miscellaneous Facts •There are no additional Riders in Alagaesia. (This excludes Galbatorix, Murtagh, Eragon, and the “Green Rider”) •As shown in the Book 4 chapter revealed in the back of the Brisingr paperback, werecats have come out of hiding to ally themselves with the Varden and the rebel movement. •Readers can expect new creatures from Alagaesia to be introduced throughout Book 4. •Book 4 will contain mysterious “red-eyed rabbits”. •There will be: “a one-sided game of knucklebones, an evil assassin, bags of flour, a water-born battering ram, streets lined with lead, a knife in the back, and the death of a character.”
Oh my god there's gonna be an effin dragon shade. And Eragon's gonna jump off Saphira during a battle and end up impaling himself on one of her spikes when she swoops below to catch him.
