Once Bitten...

Ok guys, I am very museful, and very much wanting to get my characters out into more threads. However, I have no ideas for any open threads, nor any real plot ideas.

Actually, no, that's not true. Truth is, deep down, I'm scared to make an open thread.

Over the past year, every thread I've ever had besides with Emma (and recently Aki) has been with people that just blindly follow along with what I'm doing, contributing nothing, sucking all my muse away without giving anything back. I really love spontaneous plots and character relationships, but I've almost forgotten what it's like to have one. I know, my post size is a bit scary, and I'm not all that fast. But I promise you that I never look for someone to post as long and pointlessly flowery as I do, and that I will never ignore you or your character.

So basically, I'm really looking for a good, casual thread with someone who realizes that RPing is a two-person deal. Is there anyone out there that feels the same?

*shrugs* I'd be up to it. I'm not particular as far as characters go, so we can try fleshing something out, if you'd like.

However, thinking about it more, my chief skill, or perhaps my only skill, is developing off other people's ideas. Everyone looks to me to figure out and start things, but I appear to have done that one too many times. So really, I'm good with any character, anywhere, doing almost anything. If we just find a way to bump into each other and stay together long enough to make a thread of it, it works for me. So whatever character of yours that you feel like, and whichever of mine sounds more fun. Vaoris mostly sticks to Ilirea, and Teiris mostly stays away from there and from the Tears. Other than that, anyone, anywhere, anything. If I sound desperate, it's because I am. XD

Well, I could give it a shot, I need to get my characters more involved... Maybe we could talk about a plot together and plan something out. Any characters you want to plot with? I really want to get Tasia and Sunglow more out there since they are pretty important, but I have some more.

Lol, yeah, just a couple of others... Well, it sounds fun to me, Nayeli. But like I said with Elly, my muse for giving ideas is dead. I try and think of a plot and I get nothing.

I've had a total of four threads since coming here, and only two characters. Neither have been used in a while. XD

Okay, so I was looking over your characters and I came up with two potential plot ideas almost instantly. Could do some more thinking if they don't appeal to you. Both have to deal with Teris Vorthain, first idea was that Khael has decided to do the city of Tears a good service and capture the runaway. Gain some respect and standing among the people for bringing him back. Eventually finds said Teris, but through some other random stuff finds out more about what happened at the cathedral and wishes to use the information against the Hand and possibly provide some means of protection or funding to Teris.

Other idea, Riders decide to get involved in the matter and capture the dangerous wanted murderer and slave. Kamon and Rashn are dispatched for the 'simple' mission, find him and go on from there into other stuff.

Just let me know what you think, I'll look more closely at Vaoris and see if anything pops out at me that could go along alright.

Ooh. Wow. Either one of those sound fantastic, Ari! I've actually always wanted to try having a mere mortal character being hunted by and eventually outwitting a Rider. But at the time, it was a highly trained assassin, rather than a sort-of trained fugitive. One with no magical abilities at that, so... I'm not sure how we could set it up so that Kamon couldn't just mutter a spell and it would all be over. Though it would be cool if we could try.

As for the other idea, it's surprising that you mention it, because Emma and I have been discussing future plots where Teiris eventually getting so pissed off at people chasing him that he decides to take the fight back to the hand, eventually to attempt assassinating Malandra. And I was just debating that he would need money-backing to do that, but I never considered that there might be someone else out there willing to help... I think there is a future here. And before that, it would be quite fun for Teiris to match wits against an actual PC.

How about your elf and my rider getting together? He is young, she is older, but he is trying to be a Archivist? Correct? She might be able to tell him things since she is over 400 years old or so. Maybe they meet up after she is training and then go to the library.

Any of my three characters are generally good to go, just need to figure out a way to introduce Morona and Kaime to the site in some way though.

Well then, best course of action to me seems to be to let Khael wait to get that information from Teiris, we can plan on that funding for a different plot thread if you like. Maybe get Emma in on the deal since you had talked of it before.

As for the whole running away from a rider and actually being successful I think I have a loophole for us. Kamon and Rashn do have a weakness, that being Rashn's Eldunari. Kamon keeps it on her person, but for the sake of the thread perhaps it could land into Teiris' hands. She wouldn't dare do anything for fear of hurting it. They're both really knew to the whole Eldunari thing too so they may not know all the facts and be overly cautious. Only problem there is it doesn't seem logical for Teiris to be able to find out about the Eldunari secret. That would be reason for the Riders to kill him considering how well guarded they kept that secret (not telling younger riders and all that). However I do believe that would be the best option.

Ah yes, have him piss off the most powerful organization in Alagaesia, as well as the second most powerful. XD
Yeah, it does seem a bit far-fetched to me. And a bit difficult to set up.

I actually think the idea with Khael would be our best bet. The plot for Teiris moving in to kill Malandra doesn't have to happen all in one thread. It's always fun to see how characters grow relationships beforehand, even if the plot it appears again is months away. Heck, Teiris wouldn't even necessarily have to accept Khael's offer at this point. And if Khael doesn't want to let him go otherwise, well...
The only problem I can see is that I'm not sure how we'd start it. I am quite excited about it, though. That hasn't happened in a while. =D

Alright then! Khael and Teiris it will be, I'm going to hopefully finish up Jhored's profile as well so I can give him a bit more voice as well. Sounds like we would have plenty to build off of in that thread. At first I was thinking they could finally catch up on the Plains or something like that, but honestly hunting for someone within a city always seems to be more fun. So for setting I was thinking Teirm, Carvala, maybe Aroughs. What do you think?

Oh, I agree. City chases are always so much more interesting, with more to work with than terrain features. Which leads me to think that Carvala would be the most fun. It would make sense for Teiris to be hiding in a big city where no one knows anyone else, and with a thriving underworld where he could pick up a few more survival skills.

Oh, I'm excited now. I I'm still not sure how we'd start it, but if you have an idea, I can try to run with it.
