BASIC RULES
Now, since you have read the rules, we can go along explaining how to obtain a rider as a character. Now, there are two ways you can do this and we will explain the two options.
But remember, only Two dragon per person. If you and another member have this set-up, and that member goes inactive, you can only take on one dragon-Rider pair while the other goes on ice. If you really want, though, auditions can also be held for them.
The current rider list is HERE
That's it! Provided you've got ten posts under your belt, go forth and audition for a Rider! =)
1. Only pure-blooded human and pure-blooded elves can be Riders. Half-elves or half-humans cannot be Riders.
2. Each member may have a maximum of two Riders.
3. You may apply for a Rider after making ten RP posts.
Now, since you have read the rules, we can go along explaining how to obtain a rider as a character. Now, there are two ways you can do this and we will explain the two options.
A) HAVING AN ESTABLISHED CHARACTER BECOME A NEW RIDER. You apply by writing out your elf/human character entering the Vault and trying out the eggs- meaning, picking up and holding each and every one of them before retiring from the egg chamber.
B) MAKING AN ENTIRELY NEW CHARACTER AND HIS/HER DRAGON AS AN EXPERIENCED PAIR. The dragon can be anywhere from a year old- meaning, just grown up- to several hundred years old. You can apply by writing out a scene between these two characters- it can be an action scene, a dialogue, anything.
The application must be AT LEAST FOUR HUNDRED WORDS, AND NO LONGER THAN TWELVE HUNDRED WORDS.
After admins deliberate, we will give you a yes or no answer. If the answer is a no, you may try out again after one month in real life.
If the answer is yes, congratulations! However, don't get too caught up on a certain colour, since the STAFF will choose your dragon's base colour, and then you pick the exact shade. i.e. If you get a red dragon, you can pick from firebrick red, scarlet, ruby, etc. as the exact shade. You may choose your dragon's otherwise appearance, their personality, and the history of their parents. You may also choose their gender- however, if the ratio isn't equal, we may ban the overpopulated sex until things even out again.
Also, please note that your character, no matter who they are, has to drop EVERYTHING once they become a Rider. It doesn't matter if they're a city count or a royal member; they have to pack up and go to Vroengard. If that character was in a 'leader' position, i.e. a Count, General, etc; they unquestionably must step down and give up their claims and even their bloodline if nobility.
Now, when it comes to playing the dragon and their Rider, you have, again, two options-
A) PLAYING BOTH THE DRAGON AND THEIR RIDER YOURSELF. This is preferred and very popular, since if the other person goes inactive, you're screwed. However, several members dislike this idea, which is why we also have...
B) HAVING ONE PERSON PLAY THE DRAGON, AND ANOTHER PLAY THE RIDER. If this is the case, the person playing the dragon can audition to have one of THEIR characters become a Rider, and then you can play the dragon, or vice versa! Since that explanation was probably really confusing, here's an explanation from our member Moony:
Person A: Plays Rider A and Dragon B
Person B: Plays Rider B and Dragon A
But remember, only Two dragon per person. If you and another member have this set-up, and that member goes inactive, you can only take on one dragon-Rider pair while the other goes on ice. If you really want, though, auditions can also be held for them.
