Name:
Veela Venali
Age:
520
Race:
Elf
Occupation:
Noblewoman
Allegiance:
Du Weldenvarden
Physical Description:
Physically, Veela is, apart from her height, totally opposed to other elves. Three centuries of being spoiled rotten first by her parents and then by her twin Rusalka and learning nothing of combat or meditation has not only humanized her personality, but also her appearance- with the exception of her height of 5’10”. However, she does her very best to hide this little indignity by showing off her strengths- mainly, the obvious curves of her breasts and hips, her dusky golden complexion, and the attractive roundness of her face.
Veela is prettier than the average noble, and she never fails to showcase it. Never a fan of the slimness and severe features of most elves, she hides her slanted dark eyebrows, high cheekbones and otherwise prominent bone structure with her more rounded characteristics such as her small, round nose, pouty lips, round jaw, short chin, enormous blue eyes, and tiny forehead. Veela strives to make herself as unique as possible, even dying her naturally dark brown hair strawberry blonde. Her desire to appear attractive in a risque way, as well as her chipper, often annoying Saxon accent all make it clear that Veela is not a native Alagaësian.
Veela finds nothing as engaging or as important as her physical appearance, and so she strives to keep herself looking fresh and healthy by sleeping regularly, keeping a maintained diet, and engaging in exercises such as the elven Rimgar, but drops it for as long as several months if she starts to develop muscles. Veela is very determined to maintain that nothing about her is mannish, which she considers unspeakable on a woman. She will never, under any circumstances whatsoever, wear pants, not wear makeup, fight, nor do anything else that could upset her delicate femininity.
Personality:
Veela has never known any trouble in her life. Though having a little too much weight on her hips or breaking a fingernail gives her cause to send the entire city into a panic, she has never been wrought with tragedy, poverty, or fear. Having been sheltered her entire life, Veela has no clue any of these things even exist. She has never in her life stepped outside court, and so has yet to see the true terrors most people suffer. As far as Veela is concerned, life for commoners is just dandy- they all live in cute little cottages and spend their time happily milking cows and planting food. Veela is so romanced by this notion that she had her own little cottage full of cows and chickens built for her right in her courtyard. She dislikes most of her own kind, preferring the openness and stolid loyalty of humans to elves’ frightening games and ambitions.
Veela’s life of privilege is maintained by her naïveté, her highly protective sister and the fact that no one considers her more threatening than a bumblebee- which is very true. Physically, Veela couldn’t best a butterfly, her wit is nothing special, and she is not power-hungry in any possible sense of the word. The only lesson she ever paid attention to was how to seduce a man, and she more often succeeds at embarrassing and frightening them rather than actually attracting them. She has little more than her looks to rely on. However, despite her complete lack of wisdom and cunning, Veela is very intuitive, and much more perceptive than most people are led to believe.
Conversationally, Veela maintains an air of being a tragic character, and will tell anyone who cares to listen of the troubles of forcing herself to spend four hours a morning getting dressed for the sacred necessity of being beautiful, and being surrounded by thousands of men who want little more than to jump her bones. She is flamboyant and eccentric, and often an embarrassment to anyone who has to spend more than two minutes with her. She talks of little else besides gossip, men, and makeup, making her often thought of as very stupid, shallow, and irreverent, of which Veela happens to be the latter two. Her ability to swerve off topic and talk one’s ear off is unmatched.
