Name:
Ademar Valaician
Age:
24
Race:
Human
Occupation:
Mercenary
Allegiance:
Leona Lake Trading Company
Physical Description:
Ademar is a fairly charismatic looking man for a mercenary, especially one working for LLTC. Between the upbringing of a prestigious military and minor nobility family like the Valaicians and his military service, he cuts a dashing figure in his uniform, a red cape flowing over a green long sleeved shirt and white pants. He has a tanned white complexion, as well as blond, slightly messy hair, very light blue eyes and black marching boots. He carries an almost three foot long sword on his left hip (Reference) as well as holding a pair of balanced throwing knives on his right hip. His presence is fairly friendly and open, which is generally because of his upbringing, but can seem a little wild at times to other people, especially with his light scar from the bridge of his nose down the left side to the cheek, usually leading to interesting situations.
Personality:
As previously mentioned, Ademar has a fairly open, friendly demeanor and can act the part of the upper crust with ease due to his upbringing. In general, that is how he acts. He is fairly laid back and one of those people who can ignore the stress in any situation. He is, therefore, a fairly calming person to have around, one of those guys that can be confident enough that those around him rally as well. However, there are times where his inner “wild child” shows. Sometimes he gets the urge to get in trouble, which of course leads to some problems in his home, military, and mercenary lives. Nothing to worry or stress him out, of course, but definitely has given him something of a reputation. However, somewhat because of both reputations he holds as a commander and soldier as well as the family name behind it, his services are in high demand, almost always doing jobs for his outfit, owned by Leona Lake Trading Company.
History:
Ademar grew up in the heart of Carvala’s Hightower district, among the children of nobility and wealthy merchants. He grew up with his father and grandfather, as well as their family in the Valaician compound, being taught by his mother, grandmother, and whichever of his Grand Father and Father was around. His father being an active military officer meant that he was almost always the odd man out, however, and thus it often was left to Edan to teach him as he grew up. Many parallels were drawn to his father as he grew up, especially because the same man raised both of them, but as Ademar grew older, he began to split with that a little bit. His wild tendency had shown itself often enough by the time he was a teenager that he had gotten a reputation for such things. He excelled in his schooling, both from the tutors and his mother and from his Grand Father and Father, both of whom taught him the physical, militaristic side of his heritage. He learned music and language and mathematics from tutors and his mother, and he learned the art of war from the males of the family. His father taught him the basics and the love of the sword that he carries to this day, and Edan taught him how to fight with and against many of the common weapons in the human and elven arsenals. His mother taught him the art of singing, reading, and oration, and his grandmother taught him the etiquette required of a gentleman, a scholar, an officer, and a noble. Tutors taught him the history of the land, the mathematics, and the language of the elves, the latest of which he has put to great use in his latest years. His parents hadn’t been so sure, but Edan had convinced them of the need, believing that it would far outweigh its uselessness.
On his 16th birthday, he volunteered for the Broddring military, and was promptly taken to Officer Training School, the training center for those born of high ranking officers, heroes of battle, and nobility. Ademar excelled in the areas of training there, and his only competition was those of similar military pedigree. When he graduated, he graduated at a respectable third from the top in the rankings of the school, his occasional wild card decisions being the only thing keeping him from the top. His commission lead to a respectable command of a fair sized patrol along the Silent Plains, leading him to a fair amount of combat with the common brigand, about the only use of the peace time army of Broddring. The Broddring army was still substantial, not decreasing a terrible amount since the end of the Blue Divide, so the army was always in need of solid officers. This lead to Edan’s promotion to the rank of Captain, leading a company of soldiers in a fairly large area of the Silent Plains just after his second year in the army. However, some time into the third year of his service, he heard of the catastrophe that was the Renaissance Gala, the Rider’s declaration, and his grandfather’s arrest and immediately went to his commander, submitting his resignation from the military. With it granted to him, he travelled from the Silent Plains to the family home in Carvala, staying with and comforting his family for a short while, until becoming restless. He bid his family goodbye and left the city for Ceunon, the trading capital of Alagaesia. There, he was propositioned to join a firm hiring skilled contractors for a variety of jobs controlled by the Leona Lake Trading Company. He accepted, and was quickly put to work once the recruiting process and official reveal of the project was complete. This was four years ago, and since then he has worked and amassed something of a small fortune for a young mercenary, gaining a reputation for quality work in his field, which Is generally of the physical persuasion. He has even worked directly for the owner of the Leona Lake Trading Company, Clarus Maleficarum, when he is in need of military or protection based work, and is currently working as one of the most in demand contractors of the service.
