Name:Aelyn
Age: 200
Race: Elf <3
Occupation: Witch, sorceress
Allegiance: Herself 0.o
Physical Description: Aelyn was hailed as one of the most beautiful elves of her generation. Men called for her hand, and she gained considerable influence by her looks alone. Tall and willowy, with silver hair and light green eyes, Aelyn was beautiul without a doubt. But after her "Cleansing" her looks began to change.
Standing at 5'11, Aelyn was tall for many females, even taller than some of the males. Staright-backed and regal, she walked with a grace and poise that belonged to Queen Dellanir herself. Aelyn was also blessed with an incredibly high metabolism. She consistently mainted her stomach, keeping her stomach flat, while her curves retained their...curviness. Aelyn was not very muscular, but being an elf made her naturally strong and quick. Well-defined legs and calves made her more relaxed with what she wore, and she didn't hesitate to wear things that showed off her legs.
Aelyn's curves were easily one of her most defined features, and drew the eye from even the mated men. Though she kept her breasts covered most of the time, Aelyn knew how to "be a girl".
While her body features stayed the same throughout her life, her face and hair began to change as the types of magics she practiced changed. Aelyn's high cheekbones, once prominent in her face, slowly began to droop, and became less as noticeable. Aelyn's butt chin stayed the same, but her lips lost their glossiness and began chapped and pale, and required Aelyn to constintently apply a salve that would keep them moist. Aelyn's nose was directly in the center of her face, and slightly turned up giving her a snobby look. Aelyn's eyes were still their bright green, and shone with knowledge and intense emotion. However, the center of her eyes were now flecked with red and black, giving her eyes a feral look. Her eyes constantly move, searching for escape routes and potential threats. Her eyebrows are a pale blonde, and compared to the soft glow of her skin are sometimes unnoticeable. Speaking of her skin, it was once healthy and smooth, whereas now it is dry. It is still pale, and from afar still gives off a faint glow.
Aelyn's hair is still a silvery blonde. It hangs down to her waist, and curls at the very tips. It was once constantly maintained, and was very glossy, but now it is usually unkept and messy. Twigs and leaves hang throughout it, and Aelyn only ever brushes and cleans it when she knows she is having guests, or she is forced into a city.
Aelyn usually wears a black robe, with a cloth belt and a hood to cover her face. On her feet are a pair of simple sandles that protect her feet from poisonous herbs and the like. Her only jewelry is a gold chain around her neck, simple, with no signs of potential wealth.
Personality: Aelyn was known for her personality: humorous and personable, with a knack for making people smile. Wherever that girl went, she took everything with her.
Aelyn is not personable in the least. She hates interaction with other people, and only will do so when necessary. She prefers animals and nature, and with her line of work it can be very akward with other people. Aelyn also believes, in a broad sense, that almost every other person is below her, in every way. she views humans as weak and contemptible, and most other elves as ridiculous and paranoid. Aelyn's lack of social skills does not make her a fun person to interact with.
Aelyn, though maybe not being the nicest of people, is one of the most hard-working of people. From an early age, Aelyn has struggled to surpass all of her fellow students, and suceeded. Aelyn does whatever is necessary, whether it is spending 6 hours studying,or seeing her professors during her free times. Aelyn has pounds of books, and is constantly re-reading to be sure that she hasn't missed anything. And that brings us to our next trait: critical.
Aelyn is extremely critcal, with not only herself, but with others as well. She does not allow herself to make mistakes, and the same goes for others as well. She expects perfection from herself and others near her, and refuses to believe anyone is her better. Aelyn is also incredibly smart, having read through a good portion of the Illirean library, and the Great Library in Ellesmera. She knows languages, politics, history, herblore, dragon lore, and magic most of all.
Aelyn, despite some of her better traits, is quite simply evil. She doesn't neccesarily delight in others suffering(malandra?), but rather has no boundaries when performing her studies. She kills for ingredients, and has no remorse whatsoever. These traits combined has created the perfect predator: and a dangerous one at that.
History: Aelyn's parents met at a ball in Ellesmera, and mated that very night. 9 months later Aelyn was born, and shortly after her parents Ke'enal and Druin separated. But not everyone agreed with this separation. Druin was incredibly upset, and attacked Ke'enal on her way to Ellesmera. Things went awry, and Ke'enal died. Suddenly afraid and with no where else to go, Druin fled.
Now an orphan, Aelyn was raised by minor nobles in Ellesmera. She lived a good life, and was given whatever she needed, whether it be books, or an instrument she had a desire to play. Her adoptive parents spoiled her, but shaped her into a hard-working elven child, with a sweet tooth for knowledge.
Aelyn discovered early on that she had a knack for magic, more so than other children. She also had an uncanny skill for controlling her magic, and reducing the amounts of magical outbursts she had. This skill was beneficial to her not only as a child, but would help her throughout her life.
At 25, she went to Illirea to practice her magic as all elven children do. She was friends with many of the kids that she went with, so she had no lack of potential roomates and work buddies. Aelyn was well-liked, and with a personality like hers, she excelled in all aspects of school life.
At around the age of 60, Aelyn started to grow close with a human child also at the school named Marcus. Marcus was from a very wealthy and prominent noble family, and was surprsingly gifted for a human child. he was only 15, yethe and Aelyn got along smoothly. After a year or so, Marcus approached Aelyn, saying he had special information he wanted to show with her. Aelyn was intrigued: what information didn't she already know? But what Marcus proposed to her was both unknown and frightening to Aelyn: illegal magic, blood magic. It would make them powerful beyond their dreams, Marcus persuaded. Finally after a couple of months of thinking it over, Aelyn agreed to help Marcus and together their illegal pursuit began.
For five years their research went smoothly. They discovered secret books, and practiced small, minor spells on each other. But then people started to wonder. Why doesn't Aelyn ever talk to us anymore? What does she and Marcus do together in that library all day? Inquiries were made and Marcus wanted to backout. But Aelyn wouldn't hear it. She saw the power that awaited her, and she rushed headlong into the books. She barelynoticed, in fact, when Marcus began to leave her side. Pretty soon their relationship was nonexsistent, and soon after that, the professors took her in for questioning on her way back from the library.
They asked her very specific questions, questions only Marcus could have known about. Aelyn answered none, but then the professors left, and returned with volumes of Aelyn's notes on subjects ranging from necromancy to bloodmagic, to creating her own immortal army. Aelyn was quickly and quietly kicked out of the school, a year short of her graduation.
Aelyn couldn't return to Ellesmera permanently. She would be an outcast, and she wouldn't be able to properly conduct her research. So, she went to the Spine where she proceeded to make a home for herself. A small cottage on the outside, but on the inside it was packed full of books and notes, the place was a mess. Slowly, Aelyn's body began to change physically, just as her personality did. For 75 years she lived in relative solitude, not caring for the social life many people lived. Her powers grew steadily, and at age 150 Aelyn left her cottage, and descended into Ellesmera.
She was allowed in after much thought, as the elves assumed she couldn't and wouldn't be a problem with so many others around. But, her Cleansing began. Overcome with the feeling of being dominant, Aelyn went on a rampage, killing people where they stood. The blood magic was used in such rapid succesion that her body couldn't control it, and it changed. Knowing what had happened to her, Aelyn hesitated, and that hesitation was her downfall. Her mind defenses were overcome, and she was stopped. She was taken into custody, and was in the prison in Ellesmera for over 2 decades, until finally she managed to escape, after taking over the mind of a serving girl. Once she escaped, she fled for her home backin the Spine, where she has continued to live upto now, studying, honing, and practicing her arts, in an attempt to become the Queen of Alagaesia.
Roleplaying Sample: Funny, wasn't it, how such a beautiful spot of nature could house such a deadly, and sickening city. On the one hand, there was fortune, wealth, and lavishness. On the other was poverty, drugs, prostitution, and slavery. And in the middle, a religion filled with blood worship and the constant need to cut off body parts.
I slowly made my way into the city, coming in from Uru'Baen. The four guards that flanked me were enough. I was ushered into the city quickly, riding my black stallion with my head held high. I was in the poor part of town at the moment. Around me was the noises of babies crying, sick people screaming for medicine, and the occasion giggle of a drug-empowered addict.
As I drew nearer to the middle of the city, where the Church of worship for Helgrind was. The nearest guard, a man of about his late 20's or so, was trembling. On the inside I scorned him for his fear. I would have to speak to the general about giving me such pathetic tools. Finally it seemed he noticed me staring at him. I had decided not to change my appearance for once, and my maroon hair was greasy and fell to my shoulders, and I knew how ugly and repugnant I must look. He looked away when he met my gaze and I held myself back from eating him there and then. there would be no point to it, Galbatorix would not be happy with me.
And then, we were finally there. It was here I was meeting the back-alley dealers who would be giving me what I needed. Sierthr oil. The Ra'zaac had been the first to use it as a torture weapon. I was, or at least I thought I was, the second. I descended from my horse, swishing my black cloak around me. Two of the guards, excluding(Thank God)the young, inexperienced one, came with me. The other two stood guard.
I made my way through the Church until i got to the main mass room. There was one priest muttering and holding a pot of blood and looking deranged in only a pair of white underpants and a few listeners. I looked around for my men..not there. They had clearly said the main mass room. I scanned the heads. There were a few men, watching diligently, a couple in the back were..having a good time, and otherwise there were only a few other scattered around. So where were they?
I motioned to my guards who immediately came to my side. "Check the rest of the church. Find the men. You know what they look like?"My voice was soft, but layered with anger. If the men got cold feet now they'd surely pay. the guards nodded and split up. I went the opposite way.
I wasn't really paying attention to whatever it was the priest was saying but I constantly felt a pull, an urge to listen. The priest was talking in a different language. I had never taken the time to learn it, but i did know a few words. And what I heard, might have disturbed anyone but me. I heard the word offering several times, what I thought to be blood a couple of times, and Helgrind at least a thousand. Who would worship a rock anyways? The people here were crazy, but I had decided that long ago.
As I was listening to the priest, I never quite noticed signs that I would have looked into if I was paying attention. Sounds like those of bodies being dragged against the floor, or the quiet creak of a door closing. It wasn't until after doing a sweep of the northeastern area that one of my guards came running up to meet me. "My lord, we found the bodies.." I turned my head, focusing my pitiless black eyes on him. "Where?" I was maintaining my self-control, you had to give me that. "uhh.."He was looking at his feet, and playing with his shirt. "Spit it out, or I'll get it out myself,"My voice was a soft snarl. Like that you would get by making a face at a tiger. Or by annoying an immensely powerful and diabolical shade. Either worked. He looked up. "A couple meters back sir. I was coming to tell you we couldn't find him and-"He was interrupted by a shout and then a strangled scream. At once my guard had his sword drawn, as did I. Together we ran down the dark corridor, eager to see what awaited us.
We finally came to the main church room. Everyone had scattered, except for the couple before who were lying naked in the back corner, their eyes wide and terrified. i smiled at them, flashing my filed teeth before turning my attention to the ground. My guard was there, an arrow lodged in his throat. His eyes were wide, his mouth open in a silent plea for help. I grunted turning my head side to side, searching for the right spell. "Beom eka garjzla"Bear me light. In a second there was a ball of light hovering in front of us, lighting the dark hallway ahead. And then me and my fellow guard were off. We made it through the Church fine, but when we got out there was a slightly..disconcertning sight. Both guards were dead. One was lying where we had left him. He had died under orders. The younger, wimpier one had an arrow in his back several feet away. Good riddance. I turned to my guard and together we took off toward the left.
Both of us had no idea where we were going, we had left our horses behind, and I had no sierthr oil. Today was already a bad day for me. We rounded a corner out of a back alley and emerged in a bright sunny square. The Rich District. A man was standing on a raised platform calling off numbers. There were several people standing on the platform in handcuffs. I made my way through the crowd, and by chance, just , managed to see the trail of a cloak go behind a wall. It was the only lead we had, so at once we followed it.
