Name: Sayenna Ebrae
Age:19
Race:Human
Occupation: Personal handmaid to Dellanir
Allegiance: Dellanir
Physical Description: Sayenna is not what one would call drop-dead gorgeous. With a small stature, and glazed over blind eyes, I doubt that there would be anyone who would take a second glance at her. Yet if they would, they would see the flowing dark hair, perfect bronze skin, and the general tidiness of herself. So yes, she's not gorgeous. But she is pretty.
Standing at only 5'5 Sayenna is taller than some but smaller than most. Her timid and shy demeanor only help to exemplify her short legs. Also having small curves, Sayenna is not like some of the full-bodied people of Alagaesia, but Sayenna knows she can't change, so she doesn't try to. With tanned skin, Sayenna blends in on that regard, yet it is not from the sun, but she was born with it, being from a continent far to the South. This goes well with her dark mane of hair, giving her almost an exotic look.
Sayenna's eyes would be a warm chocolate brown, bright with knowledge and understanding. If she wasn't blind. Sayenna was born with this disease, giving her eyes a pale blue color. She cannot see anything except darkness, not even outlines and figures. It is a complete and utter darkness, that she will always live with, yet it is a burden she bears rather well. Her eyes are large, with a slight upturn to them. Framed by long eyelashes, and thin eyebrows, her eyes are one of her better qualities.
Sayenna's hair is long and thick, soft and silky to the touch, and pleasing to look at. A dark brown color, it almost appears to be black. It sits straight without her even touching her hair, a benefit that she enjoys greatly. It flows down to her mid back, and she usually lets it lie there, not bothering to put it up, not even in Dellanir's presence. She washes and conditions twice a day, keeping the texture soft, in case others might touch it. Just in case.
Sayenna does not bother using makeup, as she considers the best beauty in a person to be their natural beauty. Coming from Terrae, looks are everything, and she would have been hung if anyone ever heard her say that. Her wardrobe is nothing special. Though she works for the Queen, whose wardrobe is well...extravagant, Sayenna wears simple clothing. A simple dress here, shirt and pants here. Nothing really too big, though she could wear fancy dresses if she wanted to. Dellanir is a big fan of Sayenna, and is willing to give her whatever her heart desires.
Sayenna doesn't carry much with her, and she has few possessions she can call her own. Only a necklace from her mother, of a flower, with it's petals opening up to reveal a small heart. A beautiful jewel, this is the only piece of jewelry Sayenna ever wears, as jewelry goes against her natural beauty outlook on people.
Personality: Sayenna is, to say the least, a very good person. Not a follower,as she holds on to her beliefs fiercely, but she knows what is right and wrong. A good trait, if you ask her. Though she is a good person, she tends to be on the quieter side and keeps her mouth shut, even when an opportunity arises for her to open up and take command. Being blind can take it's toll on self-confidence.
Which is completely true for Sayenna. Having almost no self-confidence, Sayenna rarely opens conversations, and tends to only use body language as ways of replying to people. She is terribly self-conscious of being blind, and has a great fear that people make fun of her, and she just can't see them. A terrible fear, but true in many cases. Having a mixture of low self-esteem, no confidence, and on top of that, just generally being shy gives Sayenna the appearance of being weak. Though no one has ever approached her in a fight, Sayenna would stand her ground, going against her initial fear.
Though Sayenna serves Dellanir, and through her, the elves, she is not a big fan of their corruption, and their huge egos. Sayenna has never liked people whose buttons get pushed once, and their off on a storm, killing people in a frenzy. Dellanir is the only exception. Having worked with her for 3 years, Sayenna has some sort of clue as to what goes through the Queen's head, and this gives Sayenna a perception on why the Queen does what she does. Protection for her family and people, and that is something that Sayenna can respect.
Sayenna is also extremely temperate, able to forgive and forget other's crimes toward her easily. Grudges fly by her, and she can't hold on to them. What she can't stand, is when people are mean to her friends, or innocents like elderly people, or people with mental problems. That is Sayenna's main distaste, is the way people make fun of the cripples, knowing there is nothing they can do to fight back. So yes, Sayenna is temperate toward her friends. But other's, she can't stand.
Sayenna is also very thoughtful, thinking about her actions rather than just going out and doing them. Though this slows her down, it also gives her a calculating advantage over others who rush into things headfirst. Sayenna is over-analytical, thinking about possibilities, and consequences. Because of this, Sayenna is rarely caught by surprise, and is an extremely good guesser.
Sayenna is sensitive aswell, as she was mind raped when she was 15. She has weak mind defenses, and though she can goon the offense strongly, she is weak when it comes to defending. This a big problem for her, especially when, here in Alagaesia, magic is used through the mind, With a weak defense, Sayenna is vulnerable.
History: Far to the South, a continent called Tarrae sits alone.Completely independent, it has 2 major cities, and many minor cities. It is small, smaller than Alagaesia, yet is very rich, making profit off of pleasure slaves, and beauty salonists. The capital city of Tarthenal resides on the far eastern coast, and is known for it's Great Library, and it's group of mages. This is where Sayenna was born.
Her father was a tinkerer, making odd objects with supplies found in junkyards and trash. Some inventions were good, some were bad, yet he and his wife got through due to the fact Sayenna's mother was a whore. It was a hard fact, and got getting used to, yet both mother and father decided it was for the best, especially with Sayenna.
When Alecai, Sayenna's mother, realized she was pregnant, she was overjoyed, yet knew that by being pregnant, her ways of making money were over. They would descend into poverty, so they would have to prepare themselves. So Alecai went to the Guild of Mages, where they studied the Warrens of Magic, and begged them to take her daughter. A deal was made, the daughter would have clothing and shelter, and an education. Satisfied, Alecai went home, and waited for the birth.
Sayenna was born, and given to the library when she was 1 month old. Alecia and her husband was saddened, yet happy for the education their daughter would get. Sayenna was rasied well, but when she was 2, it was noticed that she was blind. She was promptly handed to the mages' for special education. Blindness was not uncommon, yet when the average test was given at age 5, it was discovered that Sayenna was available to the Warrens, the paths accessed by magic users. Warrens are paths magic-users in Terrae take. Each one represents a different element or subject of magic, and therefore different strengths. Taking Serc, the path of the sky, allows the user control over air, and currents, with strength's varying on the willpower of the user. Sayenna was quickly taken once more, and put into magic training.
There were few other kids in the training. They had all come from nobility, or other magic users, making Sayenna the outcast. She would have to face training alone. Before training could start, it would have to be decided what Warren each student would use as their primary. Denul, D'riss, Hood, Meanas, Ruse, Rashan, Serc, Tennes, or Thyr. Each had one teacher, and would only take a maximum of 2 students. Sayenna was the last student to be tested. First was Denul. She excelled. Next D'riss. It was only a precaution to test students on all warrens, though really a student could only access one. Yet when tested, Sayenna excelled once more. Puzzled, yet excited, her teachers tested on all the other warrens, and she discovered a talent to all except 3: Hood, Serc, and Tennes. In the rest, she would be taught.
And that was what consumed her life from 8 to 15. Studying, memorization, practice. It wasn't just magic she learned, but math, writing, and spelling. Economy, history, politics, and geography. She proved to be a valuable student, and her teachers adored her. Yet it would prove fatal. The other student's were jealous of her special treatment, and demanded that she be thrown out. Because their parents were nobility, the Guild became under siege from the government. With no choice, they kicked Sayenna out. And with this, a mind scan. A better word, mind rape. They allowed Sayenna the access of her warrens, yet restricted her the use of passing on her knowledge. It was a powerful tool, and Sayenna would always be the worse for it.
Yet though she was kicked out, one teacher accompanied her. He had been her Thyr teacher, one of the teachers who was with her through out it all. he would not have liked her less or more, regardless of her strengths. So even when the other teachers turned their backs, he stayed with her. He continued to teach her, and they lived in an abandoned warehouse on almost nothing for 1 year. But when Sayenna was 16, Terrae was attacked by the Saxon Empire, where magic was looked on with distaste. The Guild was destroyed, the magic-users slaughtered.
Sayenna and Delcoi fled, boarding a ship to the far North. On the ship, Delcoi passed away, leaving Sayenna alone. The journey itself was a year long, and when Sayenna reached Alagaesia, she was already sixteen and a half. The ship went to Alagaesia, where it was used to trading. Sayenna was dropped off in Broddring, and traveled blindly throughout the city. By chance, Sayenna was discovered by an elven spy for Dellanir. Upon talking to her, as she was obviously foreign, he learned of where she was from, and her magic skills. She waspromptly taken to Du Weldenvarden, where she wouldbe examined. Once there, her mind was scanned, and her affinity for magic revealed. Dellanir was contacted due to the fact that a new form of magic had discovered, but upon finding out the magic was lost, many turned their backs. Dellanir, however, saw promise in Sayenna's foreign education. Sayenna began to teach Dellanir of Terrae, and overtime a friendship was made. Even after it all, Dellanir held fast to Sayenna, and took her under her wing.
Sayenna was taught the Ancient Language, but could not use Alagaesian Magic. For the past 2 years, she has lived in Du Weldenvarden, as a servant to Dellanir, and scribe in the libraries.
Roleplaying Sample Funny, wasn't it, how such a beautiful spot of nature could house such a deadly, and sickening city. On the one hand, there was fortune, wealth, and lavishness. On the other was poverty, drugs, prostitution, and slavery. And in the middle, a religion filled with blood worship and the constant need to cut off body parts.
I slowly made my way into the city, coming in from Uru'Baen. The four guards that flanked me were enough. I was ushered into the city quickly, riding my black stallion with my head held high. I was in the poor part of town at the moment. Around me was the noises of babies crying, sick people screaming for medicine, and the occasion giggle of a drug-empowered addict.
As I drew nearer to the middle of the city, where the Church of worship for Helgrind was. The nearest guard, a man of about his late 20's or so, was trembling. On the inside I scorned him for his fear. I would have to speak to the general about giving me such pathetic tools. Finally it seemed he noticed me staring at him. I had decided not to change my appearance for once, and my maroon hair was greasy and fell to my shoulders, and I knew how ugly and repugnant I must look. He looked away when he met my gaze and I held myself back from eating him there and then. there would be no point to it, Galbatorix would not be happy with me.
And then, we were finally there. It was here I was meeting the back-alley dealers who would be giving me what I needed. Sierthr oil. The Ra'zaac had been the first to use it as a torture weapon. I was, or at least I thought I was, the second. I descended from my horse, swishing my black cloak around me. Two of the guards, excluding(Thank God)the young, inexperienced one, came with me. The other two stood guard.
I made my way through the Church until i got to the main mass room. There was one priest muttering and holding a pot of blood and looking deranged in only a pair of white underpants and a few listeners. I looked around for my men..not there. They had clearly said the main mass room. I scanned the heads. There were a few men, watching diligently, a couple in the back were..having a good time, and otherwise there were only a few other scattered around. So where were they?
I motioned to my guards who immediately came to my side. "Check the rest of the church. Find the men. You know what they look like?"My voice was soft, but layered with anger. If the men got cold feet now they'd surely pay. the guards nodded and split up. I went the opposite way.
I wasn't really paying attention to whatever it was the priest was saying but I constantly felt a pull, an urge to listen. The priest was talking in a different language. I had never taken the time to learn it, but i did know a few words. And what I heard, might have disturbed anyone but me. I heard the word offering several times, what I thought to be blood a couple of times, and Helgrind at least a thousand. Who would worship a rock anyways? The people here were crazy, but I had decided that long ago.
As I was listening to the priest, I never quite noticed signs that I would have looked into if I was paying attention. Sounds like those of bodies being dragged against the floor, or the quiet creak of a door closing. It wasn't until after doing a sweep of the northeastern area that one of my guards came running up to meet me. "My lord, we found the bodies.." I turned my head, focusing my pitiless black eyes on him. "Where?" I was maintaining my self-control, you had to give me that. "uhh.."He was looking at his feet, and playing with his shirt. "Spit it out, or I'll get it out myself,"My voice was a soft snarl. Like that you would get by making a face at a tiger. Or by annoying an immensely powerful and diabolical shade. Either worked. He looked up. "A couple meters back sir. I was coming to tell you we couldn't find him and-"He was interrupted by a shout and then a strangled scream. At once my guard had his sword drawn, as did I. Together we ran down the dark corridor, eager to see what awaited us.
We finally came to the main church room. Everyone had scattered, except for the couple before who were lying naked in the back corner, their eyes wide and terrified. i smiled at them, flashing my filed teeth before turning my attention to the ground. My guard was there, an arrow lodged in his throat. His eyes were wide, his mouth open in a silent plea for help. I grunted turning my head side to side, searching for the right spell. "Beom eka garjzla"Bear me light. In a second there was a ball of light hovering in front of us, lighting the dark hallway ahead. And then me and my fellow guard were off. We made it through the Church fine, but when we got out there was a slightly..disconcertning sight. Both guards were dead. One was lying where we had left him. He had died under orders. The younger, wimpier one had an arrow in his back several feet away. Good riddance. I turned to my guard and together we took off toward the left.
Both of us had no idea where we were going, we had left our horses behind, and I had no sierthr oil. Today was already a bad day for me. We rounded a corner out of a back alley and emerged in a bright sunny square. The Rich District. A man was standing on a raised platform calling off numbers. There were several people standing on the platform in handcuffs. I made my way through the crowd, and by chance, just , managed to see the trail of a cloak go behind a wall. It was the only lead we had, so at once we followed it.

Note: She is NOT a God, and I hope this new form of magic is okay Em'ika. Warrens are paths accesible to magic-users from Terrae. Each warren is a different element, andtherefore you recieve different strengths and drawbacks. Instead of words, like the Ancient Language, you call upon the Warren from within you. Acessing your warren drawson your strength, depending on what you do with your Warren. For instance, if you Thyr(light) and you summon a light, your strength won't be reduced asmuch as if you used abright light to blind an enemy.
