Name:
Amelia Vencari
Age:
267
Race:
Elf
Occupation:
Daughter of minor court nobility in Du Weldenvarden and Hive Lieutenant of Malakian Company
Allegiance:
The Hive and the Elven race
Physical Description:
Amelia is short for her people at 6’ tall with no inches, and fairly slim at 125 pounds of weight. Her skin is tanned to a golden glow and held taut and seamless over her body. Her hair is a dark blonde color that is almost light brown and her eyes are a beautiful golden color. However, the golden eyes seem a little distant, like she is always in another place. She has very small muscles, and they are not that strong compared to the rest of her race, an average sized chest and she has the presence of someone who is fairly friendly, something that her actions may or may not show. Her appearance age is about 26, which is due to some magic and a lot of exercise. She often wears a black leather vest with very intricate metal work in it that covers her bust but is low cut over a navy long sleeved shirt, the shirt sleeves with very slight frills in it down to her wrist, where she wears leather and metal gauntlets that cover from her forearms to her knuckles. She wears leather pants matching in color to her vest and discreetly padded knees so she could land on them softly, and tops it off with leather knee-high boots with softer, made of leather dyed as the other leather is and simple, made for moving all over city terrain and with softer soles to make less noise. This, in concert with the previously mentioned blonde hair which is long enough to reach her mid back and wavy, cause her to cut somewhat of a dashing figure. She stands in a relaxed stance usually, her hands left loose and open, ready to grab or steal something as she is deceptively fast, making up for her lack of strength with quick movements and reflexes.
Personality:
On the outside, she seems strong. She is strong, really. She puts out an air of command and controlled emotion that she seems like she was made to lead a local Hive operation, although she is still not that experienced in command, especially in the parts of operations that she didn’t work as a Drone. However, she learns quickly. That’s probably her best trait, she knows how to learn. She likes to learn, actually. Anything and everything, although learning for her job comes first before other things. However, there is an exception to this rule, just like any other. She does not learn weapons or magic, as it usually brings up memories that she would much rather forget, and that leads us to her inside.
To be honest, her inside is fairly unstable after the incident that propelled her into a new life. Her violence tolerance is fairly low, usually reacting repulsed when she saw useless violence. The only violence she accepted was defensive, and even that causes some bad memories to fight up. Her largest problem, even now after being promoted to a leadership position, is that she has low self-esteem. She has had the experience that, no matter how hard she fights, she still had no control over what happened to her, and still hasn’t quite gotten over that with the scars of the incident still welling up inside her sometimes, causing her to be distracted and distant sometimes. Usually, in the throes of those rememberings, she twitches or shakes slightly, and he associates sort of forgive her that as the Hive is a haven for those with troubled pasts. She will rarely be seen in combat, although she will defend herself, or someone else who is being thrown down by the man.
History:
Amelia was born to Alexis and Lamar Vencari, who are minor court barons in the city of Ellesmera. Amelia was born into probably the safest Elven city and a super rich environment with people who spent their lives doing something. Anything that they wanted. This was an amazing place to grow up for her, and she enjoyed every bit of it, wandering among the people when she had free time, and running with anyone that she could, learning little bits of knowledge from everyone she could meet. She especially liked meeting people from the Hive, which she had learned were named Drones, and founds she had a certain knack for palming items when they played games or just showed her how although she never had the lack of common sense to try it for real.
At the normal age for Elven children, she was sent to Illeria for training in the magical arts as well as learn whatever the Riders wold teach her until she came of age at the age of 80. And learn she did. She learned much of magic, although she was nothing special in the art of the ancient language. She learned some defense maneuvers, specifically unarmed ones as she didn’t particularly enjoy the feel of a weapon in her hand. As a ceremony, she changed her appearance to one befitting the daughter of a noble and she went home to her family. For her last few years before true adulthood, she learned the art of diplomacy and flowery speech, as well as little seductive arts from her mother. When she came of age at 80, she was let loose onto the wild and she spent most of her time in the court, establishing herself and starting to work as an associate of the Hive, connecting with her “teachers” in her early years and doing little things with them, information here, little smuggling jobs there, dropping off packages and just generally helping the Hive out for the next 100 years or so.
She was about 210 when her life changed. Up to that point, she had been following her plans and playing the game, just like every other elf. She was mostly a trickster in the most basic sense, she played games and practiced sleight of hand in her free times as well as developing a little presence in the court, gaining some reputation. That lead her to the pairing that she made, joining with a Draman Lancarin who generally seemed to be a fast riser. He was a native of Ilia Feon and had moved over to Ellesmera to do something in his life, and Amelia was drawn to that. She gravitated towards him and they became close. For just less than thirty years she even went so far as to fall for this man, and they became known accomplices, although they did not consider marriage a choice as of yet. Then, the night came when she offered herself up to him and he rejected her. This sent her into the most angry moment of her life and she slapped him. And the flood gates broke. Draman was from the wild city Ilia Feon, and his ferocity was to match. He beat her down, tied her up, and proceeded to demean her in the most vile was, physically, mentally, and sexually. He not only destroyed her with fists, words, blades, and other instruments and limbs, but he immortalized it in fairths all throughout the night.
This was, in fact, a shattering day for her. Not only did the man she had convinced herself that she loved degrade and destroy her life, she lost that certain certainty that made her who she was. She withdrew from the court scene and became secluded for about a year, regaining something of her sanity. In that time, she secured herself in the most minimal way, and Draman disappeared into the mists of Du Weldenvarden and his home of Ilia Feon. When she returned to the social life of Ellesmera, first she was met with mostly disregard or some pity, but what cemented her was her Hive contact, one Marian Vincenti, offered her a place as a drone in the Hive. She explained that the place was very welcoming to women in her situation. Amelia had heard so before, but was honestly honored by their offer and accepted it. She was initiated into the Malakian company of Ellesmera as a Drone and moved onwards and upwards from there. In the last 40 years of her life, she has been working her way up the food chain of the Hive, rebuilding herself and her court presence. 10 years ago, at the age of 257, the Hive lieutenant that was in charge for her entire time there was promoted and moved away, leaving Amelia in charge as she had the most experience in acting with and inside the Hive, as well as the most experience at the time. She was honored, and accepted the position. Since then, she has been working on running the company with the same efficiency as before and learning her job, doing both successfully. Now, she has reestablished herself in court and in Hive community and is commanding the respect of Hive Drones and workers below her, and strives to be promoted to Shrike with the next opening, although her emotional state is still in question. Most recently, she has also sworn vengeance on Draman, although she is still working on doing so with the least amount of bloodshed. She tries to run the company with minimal bloodshed, and succeeds fairly well, although she hasn’t shied away from it when needed.
