I was hit by the large green tail of the massive dragon, felt my body flying through the air like a rag doll and hitting the ground only inches from the wall. I shook my head, looking up quickly to see the Sunkissed Dragon still holding strong. I let out a breath and smiled slightly as I stood, in my hand a long blade that held a sunkissed Blade and the pommel that looks like a bunch of woven together vines, with a yellow stone in the end to store energy. I stood, my body in it’s normal outfit, but today, I wore a yellow garment and it was not cloth, it was armour and it covered just a little more. My chest was covered with a golden armour like stuff, with one sleeve holding it up and it had vine designs over it. My stomach was still exposed, but I did not care. My shoulders held the beautiful vine tattoo and my hair was braided down my back and my crown kept the small pieces from my face. My waist had a beautiful chain mail, golden dress like armor that moved with me as I ran back towards my dragon.

”Sunglow! I am about to run up your tail, be ready!”

[/color] I could hear her mentally chuckling, but I knew she was serious. This was a fight, even if it was training. Her body dodged yet another attack from the bulky green dragon, but she was in place as I ran onto her pointed tail. We had been working on this move for a while and we were getting better, as I hit the end, I felt it left and I was flying towards the man onto of his dragon, my sword aimed to hit his own, which happened perfectly. The male elf tumbled off his dragon, rolling back and getting back on his two feet. ”I think you are getting better, Tasia.” I smiled at him, he held black hair and deep pine green eyes that always seemed welcoming, even now as we fought together. ”Mind out of the thoughts! Tail, behind you.”[/color] I saw the picture and jumped in time to move out of the way of a green tail coming at me.

I was ready for a fight and I saw Sunglow taking her own sun, she used her agility to move and was able to get under the large dragon, claws digging into the belly of the beast. Soon, however, they were in the air and we had the ground to ourselves. I faced Anselm Volasyl as his dragon Elisedd took to the air with Sunglow, who moved quickly through the air, constantly using her advantage as a thinner dragon to come in handy. He smiled at the dragons for a moment and then, he was running at me. I was able to block, push him away and tried to pull a fast one on him by pulling out a similar dagger at him. He laughed and knocked it out of the way without even a second thought. I moved back, looking at him before he went at it again, blades hitting without a problem, bodies moving back and forth, quickly between the blades and away from them at the same time.

I saw my opening and connected with Sunglow as she came towards us. ”Drop your tail!”[/color] She dropped, knocking the blade from his hand with ease and flying high into the arena and sky. I felt the heat of fire as Elisedd tried to burn her slightly. I put my blade to Anselm’s neck and smiled at him as he held up his hands. ”You win this round.” He chuckled as I put my blade down and soon, I felt the ground tremble. I looked back to see Sunglow and the green dragon walking towards us, I could hear mental chuckling coming from Sunglow. Elisedd then looked to me. ”You are both getting better, but it takes time, so just continue practicing.” I nodded to him, bowing in respect to the large dragon. Anselm put his hand on my shoulder, he was like me in many ways, he was down to earth and he was just a fun guy to be around. ”What now Master Anselm?”[/color] He chuckled and grabbed his sword from the ground, putting it in the sheath that was on Elisedd shoulder and attached to the saddle.

Sunglow did not have a saddle, though we had one at our villa, she hated it and she rarely allowed me to use it, since it didn’t feel right, but I was okay with that, I felt at home on her bare back, but I had convinced her to let me use it on long journeys. Anselm walked with us out, along with his dragon who was behind us, speaking with Sunglow about her aerial tactics, she still needed work. ”Hush up.”[/color] I mentally chuckled at her and then looked back to Anselm. ”I need some help on patrolling tonight… Mostly around the Font and keeping an eye on those elves that like making trouble.” I knew of the elves and I was surprised they were still here. I nodded and he sent us on our way. Sunglow was content staying with me, but I looked at her quickly. ”Go hunting! You did not eat this morning.”[/color] She blew some smoke at me, but she listened and headed that way.

Laemiri stood alongside a large foreleg, her hand resting upon it's glittering amethyst scales. Her sight wasn't very good, she was almost blind now, but she could still see the shapes and colors. One of her companions, Anslem, and his dragon were helping to train young Sunglow and her rider Tasia. She smiled, looking up at Eitauv. The male dragon's big topaz colored eye glittered as he looked down at her, then back at the training pair. 'I remember training like that when I was young, Laemiri. It was such a long time ago....' Laemiri laughed, a musical sound that carried up to her dragon. 'It was four hundred years ago, that was a long time. We've done nothing but contemplate life since.'

[/i] Eitauv chuckled, mentally and physically; the rumbling sound from his chest making Laemiri smile a bit. She clambered up onto his neck, resting herself between a huge gap in the spikes. She was at no danger to poking her eye out from here, not like she used them anyway. Eitauv spread his wings and soared down to the ground from where he had been perched atop one of the walls, landing easily in front of Tasia, Sunglow, Elisedd, and Anslem. "Anslem, Elisedd, Sunglow, Tasia." Laemiri greeted them all softly with a smile, Eitauv mimicking the gesture mentally. He chuckled yet again, a thought that Elisedd had thought at him that must have amused him. "How are you all?"[/size][/blockquote]

I was proud of what I had accomplished and as I stood with Elisedd for a moment after Sunglow had flown into the sky, we were joined by her again. ”We have some company Master Anslem, Master Elisedd.”

[/color] Both nodded to the dragon before we were joined by the might Amethyst Scaled creature and his rider, Laemiri, a beautiful elf who even I envied sometimes. She was a amazing rider, but then again, everyone had that chance to become a amazing rider. It was something about her that I thought was great. ”One day Tasia… You will be a great rider too.”[/color] I turned to look at my dragon, her sunkissed face held a smile on it and her eyes were welcoming. I nodded to her.

I was young, but then again, I was not that young, I still had some age on me and I looked back at Laemiri and Eitauv, smiling at them for a moment. ”Anslem, Elisedd, Sunglow, Tasia." I smiled to her, bowed, as did Sunglow, since we were young and they were older then we were in the dragon world. Anslem smiled at both of them and gave a simple wave of his hand. ”Hello Laemiri… Hello Eitauv… It has been a while, though I am not sure a few days is a while.” He chuckled. He enjoyed joking about things and I could not help but shake my head slightly at the elf. I looked back at the elf before us, hearing a chuckle coming from the beautiful purpled color dragon. ”How are you all?" The master smiled and nodded quickly before clapping his hand on my armored shoulder.

”Oh just fine… Right Tasia?” He said, looking at me, since he wanted me to speak. I nodded before speaking to her. ”Yes Master… We were just doing some training… We beat Master Anslem.”[/color] Though as I spoke, I heard Elisedd chuckle slightly at me. I looked up at him for a moment and his green eyes beamed down at me. ”You may have beat Anslem, young hatchling… But Sunglow still has much to learn.” I heard Sunglow snort, the smoke came around me and I had to wave my hand to get the dark smoke to move away. ”You know Sunglow, be careful where you aim that… One day it will not be just smoke.”[/color] I said to her, looking at her for a moment and getting a chuckled from Anslem.

Laemiri smiled at the young pair. She listened to them banter so easily with their mentors, a memory that Laemiri herself had as a young Rider, when she had a mentor rather like Anslem. Except that Rider told her on a daily basis that she was a useless piece of life. He was rather vicious with what he said at times, calling names and such, but it was all affectionate, Laemiri could see that, as could Eitauv. Now, the massive amethyst tinted dragon loomed over Laemiri, as well as Sunglow and Elisedd. Eitauv was a brute, one could say, but only in size. He had a reputation as a gentle-giant, though extremely protective. He snorted when Tasia told Sunglow to watch where her smoke was going, throwing violet flames from his nostrils when he did so. He couldn't help it, he was laughing now. "Oh hush, Eitauv. Don't laugh at Tasia's comment. She meant well, she can't help it she amuses your old soul." She said, giggling a bit. The elf-woman's clouded eyes glimmered, the light from the amethyst-colored dragon shimmering off them easily. Eitauv's chest rumbled with laughter still, his thoughts coming easily. 'I cannot help what amuses me, Laemiri. You know that. Besides, Tasia should know I mean well.' He turned his head and looked at Sunglow, who looked quite minute compared to his bulk. Out his wings flared as he stretched them, sunlight making them glow a bit as he hit his full wingspan before folding them up again. 'Sunglow, I'm going to make an oh-so-rare hunting trip. You're welcome to join me if you wish.'

[/i] Laemiri put a hand to her chest, a mock-shocked expression on her face. "Eitauv? Hunting? Are my ears decieving me?" Eituav chuckled at this. 'They would be if I could speak. But seeing as it was by thought I conveyed that, it would be your mind decieving you, my dear.'[/i][/size][/blockquote]

I looked at Sunglow for a moment who gave me a half-hearted smile and lowered her head to rub my back gentle. Honestly, it would have out me to sleep if I had been laying down. It had become something of a thing with us that at night she would help me relax by rubbing my back. It always worked and I rubbed my shoulder slightly with my other hand as she stopped. She lifted her head slightly, she was not as big as the other two, still considered a hatchling, but she was getting bigger and I was able to fly with her now. Elisedd looked at the two of us for a moment and then glanced at Eitauv as he beast laughed as my comments.

I was happy that my comments amused them, but I was not at all playing, though it was rather funny. I enjoyed teasing Sunglow about her smoke, since she always seemed to enjoy blasting me some. ”Oh hush, Eitauv. Don't laugh at Tasia's comment. She meant well, she can't help it she amuses your old soul." I smiled up at the large amethyst colored dragon, who’s body was beautiful. ”I am pretty too you know.”

[/color] I looked at her for a moment as she privately nagged me. I patted her nose with my hand and nodded. ”I know that.”[/color] I replied to her though our thoughts. She was beautiful and slim, not like Elisedd and Eitauv who were both rather big and bulky. ”I cannot help what amuses me, Laemiri. You know that. Besides, Tasia should know I mean well.” I smiled at the large beast and nodded. These two elders had to be one of my favorites, other then Master Nemo and Ikehr who had accepted me, along with my sense of fashion. ”Sunglow, I'm going to make an oh-so-rare hunting trip. You're welcome to join me if you wish.” Sunglow smiled at the larger dragon and nodded her head.

”Thank You Master Eituav, I would be happy to join you.”[/color] I smiled at her. She needed to go and hunt some and she glanced at Elisedd who smiled at Eituav for a moment. ”Mind if I come? I have not eaten in a couple of days, I could use a good meal?” I glanced at Sunglow, her thoughts were on the fact that he would also be doing some training. ”Eitauv? Hunting? Are my ears decieving me?" I heard the might beast chuckle at Laemiri’s comment and I looked into his large eyes. ”They would be if I could speak. But seeing as it was by thought I conveyed that, it would be your mind decieving you, my dear.” I smiled at his words, for they gave humor and I could not help but smile.

Anslem’s hand landed on my shoulder before he looked at Laemiri. ”Why don’t we let these three go and have a good hunt and we can go grab us some lunch.” I smiled at Anslem, hearing my own stomach growl slightly. I smiled, a bit embarrassed at myself.

Laemiri nodded, kissing Eitauv on the nose with a smile before the massive amethyst colored male spread his wings and launched himself into the sky. Laemiri laughed lightly as he did so. "I'll never get over seeing him fly. It's amazing..." She said softly as he hovered for a moment above them, the beats of his wings dull thuds. Eitauv's somewhat serpentine body spiraled upward, his muscular shoulders holding him in one place with the flaps of his wings. It was true, Eitauv was somewhat bulky, but he wasn't compact like Elisedd. Nor did he have the lithe elegance that Sunglow did. He was somewhere inbetween. Like a boa constrictor between a viper and a turtle. Eitauv hit the cloud bank, tucked his wings in and dove towards the ground, letting loose a playful roar and snapping his wings open to spiral upwards in a loop. 'It feels good to fly again.' he thought, his big tail acting as a rudder as he headed towards the plains, where knew a herd of fast-moving deer were, along with some hardy looking rams that lived on a craggy outcropping. He had a fondness for wild cattle and he knew there was a herd of them somewhere within the plains as well. Laemiri listened until they were well out of earshot, though she still heard them in her mind. "Tasia, do you mind taking my arm when we walk? My sight is almost gone and I'd rather not walk into any walls you see." She asked the young elf woman, turning her head to where she could sense Tasia's mental prescence. "Normally Eitauv acts as my eyes, but he's off hunting, as you know." She smiled a bit, one hand resting on her hip where the glimmering amethyst blade hung from. The gem in the hilt shone and sparkled, little bits of light splaying off it. The gem itself almost glowed from all the energy that she and Eitauv had stored in it. Having had no difficulty with battles and such, they were able to put away large amounts of energy each day while they studied. Not to say that Laemiri and Eitauv had never seen combat, that they had seen far too much of, but they weren't as scarred as some of the oldest Riders were.

I patted Sunglow’s snout as she readied herself for flight, but she allowed the others to take of first. Eitauv was the first to move into the air, his powerful wings sending a bit of dust into the air around us and then he was high into the sky. I heard Laemiri laugh slightly and my eyes went to her for a moment. ”I'll never get over seeing him fly. It's amazing..." I nodded as I watched him go and soon he was going up higher into the air, his body moved quickly. Next went Elisedd, who’s large pine colored wings threw him into the air like a rocket, but he did not move with the same movements as the other. He was bulky, his muscles pushed him into the air where he waited for Sunglow.

She nudged me gentle with her nose and then she was off, her smaller body went into the air, her elegant body twisted and turned, moving gracefully into the air, high and strong. She moved in circles, having all the fun in the world. She dove and moved like she was swimming and it was mystical. Soon, her body was more like a dot and I sent my mental farewell to her. I then turned back to Laemiri and Anslem, who was redoing his sword on his hip after taking it off his mighty beast. I got mine into comfort and then I felt a bag being tossed into my stomach. ”You need to change into something more comfortable.” Anslem voice said to me as I laughed and nodded.

”Tasia, do you mind taking my arm when we walk? My sight is almost gone and I'd rather not walk into any walls you see." I smiled to the woman and nodded. ”Yes Ma’am, but if you will excuse me, I need to change.”

[/color] She was about to continue when she spoke again. ”Normally Eitauv acts as my eyes, but he's off hunting, as you know." I nodded to her and watched as she touched the hilt of her sword. I could not help but look at the beautiful gem that sparkled. Mine was not nearly as beautiful, well, it was, but hers seemed to shine more with energy. Mine only had a little, mostly because Anslem and Elisedd put some in it daily for him and each time I went with Sunglow hunting I took the energy of the beast instead of allowing sunglow to kill it.

However, my vine crowd held lots of energy. I excused myself, allowing the two elders to speak as I ran to the area I could change. I removed my armor placing it in the bag and putting it in a place where it would be safe and then I would return for it after lunch. I put on the black cloth garment that went around my chest. It hid what needed to be hid and it was held up by tightness and one sleeve. My stomach below show, as well as my back. My vine tattoo moved with my skin along my shoulders. I replaced my lower armor skirt with my black skirt, which looked like a piece of rag that was tattered, which it was. It went to just below my knees, but it was ripped to above my knee.

I returned and smiled at the two, allowing Laemiri to take my arm so we could walk towards where we would be eating. ”Where to Master Anslem?”[/color] He looked at me for a moment and smiled. ”A place that a old friend of mine owns, perfect for elves.” I smiled and nodded, following him towards the place. We did not walk fast, just enjoyed our time and I let to two elders speak to one another

Laemiri nodded, waiting for the young woman to change and come back. Laemiri herself wore a not-so-conventional garb. Most elf women wore dresses and the like. Laemiri wore all black, a pair of tight black pants that ended just below her knees, and a pair of boots that went all the way up to them. Her top was black as well, tight-fitting and with thin straps holding it up over her shoulders. The fabric was enchanted, to work like any sort of sheild or armor. She heard Tasia come back and allowed her arm to be taken through hers. They walked, Laemiri listening placidly to the short conversation between Anslem and Tasia. "Laemiri, have you been faring any better with your illness since the last time we spoke?" Anslem asked her, giving her a bit of a concerned look as they walked through the streets of the city. "I'm afraid not, Anslem. It's been taking it's toll on me. Lately it seems like my mind has been dulling a bit, like my sight has. It's nearly gone now, in fact, I don't expect it to last a week. I suppose I must adapt to life without it." Anslem looked at her again, as they walked. "Surely you'd allow a healer to fix this? I'm sure with magic it could be reversed." But Laemiri shook her head. "No, Anslem. I'm not going to let someone try and fix it. I've already tried several times, even with all the energy stored in this gem, I'm not going to fix it. Before it got too bad I looked through some records here in the archives. Only once before has something like this been documented, and the elf that had this issue passed on. It's only a matter of time, and I'm not going to spend my time worrying about it. If something should happen, it happens. Eituav is already aware of this and has been preparing himself." Laemiri spoke of this rather bluntly, but calmly. She knew what was going to end up happening to her and she was fully prepared for it. "Tasia." She said, turning her head to the young elf woman. "You understand that this all confidential. None of this is to leave the three of us. You may tell Sunglow, but only if you believe that she can keep it a secret. The rest of the older Riders know what is going on, but it's best if the other young Riders that are training don't know about it. As well as any that may be looking to plot against the Riders. It looks bad for one of the three Eldest Riders to be ill and possibly dying. You understand? It's just best to be kept quiet." She said, sighing a bit as she did so. "Laemiri, I hope you live longer than the expectancy." Laemiri snorted a bit at this. "That's wishful thinking Anslem."

As I returned to the two elder riders, I took Laemiri’s own arm and began to lead her, I knew that she had trouble seeing, but she was not weak, she was actually much stronger then people though and it was something that I admired about her. She was also not like many of the elves that had to wear dresses… Like myself, I wore short skirts that went to my knees and were ripped like they had been grabbed by cats. It helped me move and get around and my armor was no different, but the chain mail was a bit tougher to work with. Anslem had already instructed me to get normal armor, that I would have to wear like pants, which already was making me unease.

”Laemiri, have you been faring any better with your illness since the last time we spoke?" I looked at Anslem for a moment, before turning my head to look at the woman on my arm. Was she sick? I had never noticed anything different about her, never seen her look sick. I was worried now, which I did not do very often. I hated to worry, because it always caused me to think too much. Sunglow worried about very little, which was always a plus in our relationship. ”I'm afraid not, Anslem. It's been taking it's toll on me. Lately it seems like my mind has been dulling a bit, like my sight has. It's nearly gone now, in fact, I don't expect it to last a week. I suppose I must adapt to life without it." I knew of her sight, but her mind could not be dulling… She was able to do more then any elf I had seen before and it was amazing.

Laemiri was a very bright and great Elf, if she died, the Council would lose something great. She was capable of doing great things and surly the bond with her dragon would help her live. ”No, Anslem. I'm not going to let someone try and fix it. I've already tried several times, even with all the energy stored in this gem, I'm not going to fix it. Before it got too bad I looked through some records here in the archives. I could not think about it, but she said that Eituav was preparing himself. I knew dragons had a hard time living without their riders, but could it be possible that he would stay, that he would carry on and live for his rider and the council. The question lurked inside my head so greatly, I wanted to ask. ”Tasia." She looked to the older rider and smiled at her for a moment. ”You understand that this all confidential.” I nodded quickly. Something inside told me it was. ”None of this is to leave the three of us. You may tell Sunglow, but only if you believe that she can keep it a secret.” I would have to, I could not keep it from my sister and I knew she could keep a secret fully, especially like this. ”The rest of the older Riders know what is going on, but it's best if the other young Riders that are training don't know about it. As well as any that may be looking to plot against the Riders. It looks bad for one of the three Eldest Riders to be ill and possibly dying. You understand? It's just best to be kept quiet." I nodded to her quickly.

”Of Course, Master Laemiri. I will never tell anyone.”

[/color] And that was a promise that would never be broken. The thought made me want to see her more, to learn more from her. Maybe I would be granted such a wish. I looked ahead slightly, my eyes down casted towards the cobble road we were walking on. I felt Anslem’s hand on the back of my shoulder and I looked at him, feeling his mind touch my own. ”I will request that she spends more time during my training with you.” I smiled at his silent answer to my own concern and then watched him look towards her. ”Laemiri, I hope you live longer than the expectancy." She snorted slightly and I had to look over at her again. ”That's wishful thinking Anslem." I looked at her for a moment, and took in a breath.

”Master Laemiri, You said that… Eituav… Was prepared for your death… I know this is personal, but if you do die, will he stay with the council and stay around her?”[/color] I knew it was personal, but the question was going to haunt me for days if I did not ask it. I was always wanting to know things, I just wanted to know if he would be okay. He was a good dragon and Sunglow looked up to him like she did to Elisedd.

Laemiri nodded as Anslem spoke to her, asking her to spend more time with Tasia. 'Of course, I want Tasia to learn all she can from me before such a thing happens. She's a bright young woman, she'll be good for the Council.' She smiled, looking at Tasia when she asked her question. "I don't know. He said that he might stay for a while, or that he might go and reside with the elves for a while in Ellesmera. I haven't asked him about it."

[/b] She said, shrugging a bit. "After all, it's up to him what he does with his life after I'm gone. I just hope that I've done some good in this world." Laemiri allowed Tasia to lead her wherever they went, her unseeing gaze a bit unsettling. "What'd I tell you? That it wouldn't last a week? It's gone now. What a shame, I enjoyed seeing." Laemiri sighed yet again, Anslem's voice coming to her. "You shouldn't waste time on helping Tasia learn. You should start when you get back. The sooner the better."[/size][/blockquote]

I hadn’t known that Anslem had allowed the thought to be voiced to both, why had he not just said it out loud? ”Of course, I want Tasia to learn all she can from me before such a thing happens. She's a bright young woman, she'll be good for the Council.” I had not thought about much of the high council at all, in fact, I figured I would never be thought of… Many of the elders, besides Anslem though I was too wild for the council. They never agreed with my dress code or my way of thinking. They would never put my in such a position of honor unless they were influenced by a person who big ties.

“I don't know. He said that he might stay for a while, or that he might go and reside with the elves for a while in Ellesmera. I haven't asked him about it." I nodded. I just hoped he stayed away from my Step mother’s home, she hated all riders and dragons, thought they were nothing more then rats with wings, but I knew better. They were smarter then us and I knew that for a fact. I glanced down for a moment, knowing that inside my own heart wanted the large dragon to stick around. Sunglow loved his company, he was calm and he was always nice, like Elisedd was too. Maybe he would stay long enough to see Sunglow and I grow into elder riders and start training? If he did stay. ”After all, it's up to him what he does with his life after I'm gone. I just hope that I've done some good in this world." I looked at her for a moment.

Laemiri had done a lot I figured, she was smart and she had trained quite a few riders in her life time. I looked ahead, moving carefully and kept a eye out. I was wondering when we would be at this place, but soon, I noticed that Anslem was smiling rather large. ”What'd I tell you? That it wouldn't last a week? It's gone now. What a shame, I enjoyed seeing." I looked at her… She was completely blind now? I could barely believe it and I did not like it. How would she be able to live without the use of her sight? Who would help her? I knew she was smart, I knew she was wise, she could do anything, but still… ”You shouldn't waste time on helping Tasia learn. You should start when you get back. The sooner the better." I glanced over at Anslem, who held a smile on his face still.

”The place is just up ahead…” I looked ahead and saw a few elves sitting outside on some chairs, enjoying some relax time. We moved towards them and they stood as we entered, giving each of us a greeting and then we went in. I looked around… It was clean here… Very clean and it smelt wonderful. Anslem showed me a place for Laemiri and I to sit and he went to tell the owner they were here and probably order for us. I lead her to the table and set down with her. It was quiet too, it was not crowded and no one was yelling or talking very loud. ”Wow, I am going to have to come here more often.”

[/color] I said, looking around for a moment before looking back towards Laemiri… ”You think I could be on the council? Most of them don’t like me too much.”[/color] I said, looking down for a moment at the table. Aslem returned to the table and set down and I could tell he was very happy.

"I know for a fact that you'd do well on the Council. " Laemiri said, her voice a bit lilting. Her mind wandered, absorbing the overall feel of the room. Even without seeing, or even examining any of the elves carefully guarded minds, she could feel their emotions. "The Council thinks that you're a bit headstrong and a bit wild. But they also believe that you have a great deal of potential. Don't worry, Tasia. They thought the same of me when I was as young as you are. Now look at me. I'm the third oldest Rider in existance. Eitauv is the third eldest of the dragons. You and Sunglow have the same bond as myself and Eitauv do..." Laemir smiled at the girl. "Though Eitauv isn't nearly as vain as Sunglow." She said with a chuckle, shaking her head a bit. "Sunglow is going to be a good role-model for any younger dragons, Tasia. Mark my words, you'll have your fair share of followers and such. I wouldn't be surprised if Sunglow has herself a brood some day. She'd be a good mother to a little group of hatchlings. With the way things are going, they wouldn't even have to be bonded unless you two made that decision." Laemiri shook her head yet again, getting a wave of happiness that came off of Anslem. "Why are you always smiling, Anslem?" She asked him, her blinded eyes resembling opals. They were a milky white and had streaks of color underlying the palid film. She reached into her pocket, slipping out a flask and taking a swig from it. It was whiskey, with an underlying streak of honey to get rid of a bit of the bitterness. "Shhh. Our little secret."

"I know for a fact that you'd do well on the Council." I smiled, though I could see everywhere around me, I could tell peace was within’ the room. Nothing was wrong, nothing was tense, everything was perfect. Unlike places like the Poison Apple that Nemo and I enjoyed, the elven places did not have major brawls like the humans did, we could get along and if we had a problem, we were quiet about it for the most part, unless they had a real problem.

It was how I was raised, I was not raised in a city, I was raised in a village and I stayed in the forest of Du Weldenvarden. ”But they also believe that you have a great deal of potential. I did not plan on changing, I would always be wild, I would always be who I was. They may look down on me because of my taste of style and my taste of thought, but they could get over it. ”Though Eitauv isn't nearly as vain as Sunglow." I chuckled slightly with her.

Sunglow was very head-strong and she always felt like she needed to be in control. It could get annoying, but I always found that she meant well, but sometimes, she worked people’s nerves. ”Sunglow is going to be a good role-model for any younger dragons, Tasia. Mark my words, you'll have your fair share of followers and such. I wouldn't be surprised if Sunglow has herself a brood some day. She'd be a good mother to a little group of hatchlings. With the way things are going, they wouldn't even have to be bonded unless you two made that decision." I smiled. I could only imagine her having babies and they would all be as headstrong and controlling as she was. I could not help but shake my head at the idea and chuckling to myself.

I looked back at Anslem as he came towards us with a smile on his face. ”Why are you always smiling, Anslem?" He chuckled at us for a moment and then shrugged. ”What is the point of being upset or unhappy all the time? I can’t help but enjoy life.” He said to us and I smiled. It was the truth, mostly because we were both kind of raised in the same kind of lift. I watched as she brought out a flax and I smiled. I would have never guessed. ”Shhh. Our little secret." I nodded and then looked at a elf that brough by three very well made dishes. ”I hope I can do as good of a job as you say and I would be scared if Sunglow had children…”

Laemiri laughed lightly at Tasia's response to her. "My dear, everyone would be more than slightly frightened if Sunglow had a brood of hatchlings. There's a good chance that they would burn down the Spine." She said lightly, shaking her head slowly. 'Laemiri! I caught a strange looking cow-thing! And Sunglow hasn't touched them! I think she's been going after the little antelope looking things. Me and Elisedd keep trying to get her to go after these bigger creatures with the funny horns but she seems to be under the impression that either they aren't edible or that they're tear off her scales. Gracious, she's vain.'

[/i] Eitauv thought at her from the distance he was away. They weren't so far away that they couldn't hear eachother, though Laemiri and Eitauv had conditioned themselves to where they could almost hear eachother if one was all the way in Ellesmera. It was relativly unheard of, this connection, though not impossible to acheive if you trained hard enough. Laemiri chuckled softly. "It seems they're having fun. Seems they've come across a herd of rather largely horned cattle. Eitauv says that they've been trying to entice Sunglow to come hunt them with them, but he says she's more focused on the little antelope things." She shook her head yet again. "She certainly in something." She smiled a bit, her head perking up a bit as she heard to door to the place open, ears focusing in on the sound. "Who is it that's coming in, Tasia?"[/size][/blockquote]

It was true, I feared if she ever had any children, mostly because of how wild she was, the whole country would be burnt to the ground. I wondered what she was thinking for a moment and honestly, my own mind was on Sunglow…


”Come on my dear, come get some of these!” Elisedd said to me as I flew over, grabbing a small antelope, my eyes going towards the cattle looking things. Tasia was constantly telling me not to get the cattle, not to attack them, yet they were… Were they the cattle like those of Ilirea? Or were they different then those. I was confused, but they were hunting them… I would have to ask Tasia about it when I got back. ”I don’t know, Master Elisedd… They look like the cattle that belong to those humans.”

I looked at Laemiri, smiling at her for a moment before I heard a chuckle and looked at her. Anselm did the same, wondering what she was thinking as well. ”It seems they're having fun. Seems they've come across a herd of rather largely horned cattle. Eitauv says that they've been trying to entice Sunglow to come hunt them with them, but he says she's more focused on the little antelope things." I smiled slightly at her and nodded. ”Well… I tell her not to attack the cattle around here, she might be confused, I will have to tell her it is okay if they are wild.”[/color] I said to her, smiling slightly and watching as she shook her head. ”She certainly is something." I smiled slightly and then heard someone coming in.

"Who is it that's coming in, Tasia?" I turned just in time to see the group of elves that were tattooed like me, but more on their bodies then mine own. Anselm followed my gaze for a moment and I looked at him. ”It is the gang of elves that guard the font now… Those with more vines on their body then my own. They caused me trouble the night before I got Sunglow and continued on from there. I am not sure why they are even in Ilirea.”[/color] I said to her as I took a bite of the food that had been brought to us. I had a bad feeling things were about to happen.

The sun was warm this day, he feel the rays seep into his scales and warm his body. There beneath his skin it was held and mixed within the fire of his own gut. Heat truly was a beautiful thing. Closing his eyes he soared easily along the thermals of day, rarely pumping his wings even at this lower altitude. Kamon had once compared him to an eagle. Commented that she watched those creatures before, when she was younger. She had viewed them as they soared, seemingly weightless among the sky. They did not flit about and dance like the sparrows, did not expend that energy except when needed. No the eagles spread their large wings and let the wind do the work. Rashn did not race about like the sparrow, but he was watchful like the eagle, and he could strike like the falcon. Why was he thinking in terms of birds? It was the eagle that soared as a dragon, the sparrow that darted like the…smaller dragons. So poetry wasn’t his forte. Killing was however, and he was beginning to feel that edge of hunger. Kamon had caught it early, sent him out before he had become grumpy. Smart elf. Best get to killing.

With a sharp eye he gazed on the land below, his eyes picking out details those little birds he had thought of before might miss. Useless information that was though, he could not fill his stomach on the flitting mouse and bounding hare. Bloody hell he could barely fill up on a single large creature. Rashn was no glutton, but his size was great. That and he was still healing, his body was working overtime and it needed the fuel to get healthy. A glint of gold and a familiar hue of amethyst caught his attention, and there along the edge that green. The colors were bright and shining, and he knew the smell before he drew close. Three dragons, two older, one younger, two male, and one female. Two well-known to him, or at least decently known, Rashn was surprised Eitauv was simply not an elf with that peaceful mind of his. Also Elisedd, a good strong dragon…if a bit too righteous. Always loving humans that one, frustrating lout.

However the gold was new to his eye, the smell fresh and new. A very young dragon by the look of it, the fire was still held within, not yet unleashed. That much he could tell. All three held the scent of blood…ah so they had already disturbed the herds. That would make for some fun, wouldn’t it? The growl in his stomach was reminding him now that it lusted for blood. With a quick eye he spotted the large beasts fleeing, their brethren already in the clutches of Elisedd and Eitauv. Seemed the small gold dragon preferred the antelope. A dancer then. Fun to mess with they were. Rashn pushed the thoughts of other dragons from his mind, focusing instead on the hunt instead.

His vision honed in on the fleeing cattle, his wings naturally steering them above and behind his target, though he was careful not to cast his shadow on the creatures. The rumble within his stomach lured him on. He wanted to light the land on fire, set a blaze and finish off two of the creatures in one hit. The itch in his throat warned him not too, and the memory of disgusting charred flesh finally dissuaded him. A blackened meal was no meal at all. Close enough. Rashn tipped his wings, tail steadying his flight as he dipped his nose and went straight into a dive. The wind whistled over his scales, changing in tune where it hit those deep scares. The beasts were already running and scared from the previous assault, but they had not hope of outrunning the flying hunter. He was directly above them now, had but to reach out and snatch one…but that was too easy…best practice for battle.

Within that split moment he changed tactics he flared his wings, which unfortunately slowed him, but it also created the parachute effect he needed. His back feet soon clutched dirt, a stiff somewhat brutal landing, but also incredibly quick and efficient. Before he landed he had already sprang into action, with the new parachute he did not need his rudder…his tail struck, and like a spear it sank deep. The barbed end sinking deep into the flesh of the cattle. As his talons gripped dirt his tail dripped blood, the beast already twitching its last. His aim had been true, and now he had his meal firmly positioned on his tail. A curious way to acquire a meal and perhaps a curious tactic in any battle, but one must be prepared for anything. Though being hampered by such a thing would be troublesome…with a strong whip of his tail he managed to fling the beast off. Though it did take some effort considering the barbs holding it back. As he turned he spotted his fellow dragons not far from his position.

It was then he noticed the long flying blood from his tail whip had managed to land more directly on the new gold colored dragon. Well, perhaps not the most polite way to say hello, but some dragons might consider it a courtesy. Rashn himself had plenty of blood coating his tail and body, but his scales were already the hue of fresh blood and it blended easily. Always coated in blood…Kamon said that often. Rashn preferred it that way.

“Greetings, Eitauv, Elisedd…and…other little one.”

The other older dragons would be used to such words. Natural communication no? Sod it all, he was the elder here wasn’t he? Bloody annoying is what it was. He missed the days where he could rush off as young blood to test his mettle against whatever he could find. Surprisingly that was frowned upon when you reached the size he had. It made him slightly dour as he thought about it.

Kamon yawned; training had been long and tiring today. Testing what the eldunari was capable of was extremely exhausting. It was true that no matter how far Rashn traveled she could touch his mind as if he were standing at her side. That was a useful tool, even if it was annoying to have little to no privacy. They had solved that problem however. When they needed some time alone Kamon had a special pouch made for her dragon. It fit snugly beneath some of the close spikes on his head, secured by numerous straps and spells. Protected by a metal weave and cushion within the pouch along with even more wards. A little extreme perhaps, and considered overkill by some other pairs with Eldunari, but it worked for them. So getting that sorted had taken at least an hour, Rashn had been very specific on where he wanted it placed so that it would not be in danger even in the worst of scenarios.

Even more time had been spent working out the exact way for Kamon to carry the Eldunari. No matter how she had placed it Rashn seemed unsatisfied. In the end he had to trust her to care for it. With numerous wards and the same pouch that could attach to Rashn's head Kamon had found a comfortable way to hold the large jewel-like object. It fit nicely right on the small of her back, and with the straps it was easy to keep it secured. Even if most of the straps were cut it would remain in place. The wards would do work as well, but magic could fail just like anything physical, so there were fail-safes. Even that had been only the half of it for today. Kamon had spent nearly a full hour working with magic to try and keep healing Rashn.

Truth be told that had been the most exhausting of today’s activities. Rashn had tried to lend his strength as well, but she had refused to let him. Kamon wanted to keep him at full strength; he would never heal if he didn’t let his body help in the natural way. That being said she had gone too far today, blacked out as it was. The healing had made Rashn hungry, ravenous even if he hadn’t felt it quite yet, and it had done the same to her. Her body desperately wanted food…and rest. Unfortunately she felt as if she were about to fall over, but her stomach would not let her sleep just yet. So she had to make her way to a near place, and Rashn had left her in a truly strange place. None of her normal haunts were here. At least she had the Eldunari with her, if she became desperate enough she could lean on some of Rashn’s strength. He felt so alive and happy right now it made her sick. Flying…diving…killing. While she walked like a drunken human to the next inn. All because that bloody dragon had put out his neck too far.

Kamon peered through bleary eyes, well; a quiet place would be better right now. Not really her style, but quiet sounded awesome right now. Elves were gathered outside, quietly chatting or simply relaxing. They looked her way, noticed the swords on her back, clearly those of a rider, but her walk confused them. Confusion on an elf was difficult to note unless you were an elf yourself, but there was glint to their eye and a very slight tilt to their brows. Kamon had foregone gloves today as well, mainly for the healing of Rashn…come to think of it they were tucked into her belt…she reached for them, perhaps she could cover her hands and wave them off. Nope, they had seen the flash of silver on her palm as she had moved. Blast it to nine hells they were standing up and giving simple, yet formal hellos. She smiled slightly, the weariness stretching her face as she answered correctly in turn. Hopefully she would be left alone inside, but she slipped the gloves on just in case.

Mind still on the elves outside she leaned heavily on the door to open it, too heavily. Her weight had shifted unexpectedly as it swung easily open, her weary body shooting forward as she collided heavily into someone. The patron went flying forward, sprawled out on the floor. Kamon herself was still stumbling, shakily trying to keep her feet. She did not want to land on the tattoo covered elf, though it seemed inevitable. Eyes looking up she heard an angry shout, and one of the elf’s companions turned swiftly as he was jostled by his unfortunate brethren. His glare focused on her as if she had meant to start a fight, and his bunched fist came flying towards her face. It would have been fun to play if she had not been so exhausted; as it were this was incredibly troublesome in her current state. What was worse…she had put the gloves back on…and she had no time to draw her blades as proof, no stranger would know her as a rider.

So Kamon did what her body was already leaning into. The crazy fighting style had always suited her best, so she fell. Normally she would have made it a roll; she would have struck and sprang. Not today with her lagging reflexes. The rider merely ducked the fist and head-butted the elf on her way down hitting him heavily in the stomach. Simultaneously she wrapped her arms around him and brought him to the ground with her. The elf was already doubling in pain, and it was an easy task to use him for a soft landing. Kamon attempted to pinch a nerve on the neck that would disable him as they landed in a tussle, but her bleary eyes missed the mark and she merely annoyed him. He was recovering already, and she could see a foot flying towards her face. Rashn was awakened, filled with anger and she could hear a roar within her head, but the energy the Eldunari was still coming and that foot drew closer as the elf she had landed on brought up his knee to try and strike her gut.

The massive amethyst colored male dragon flared his wings, rearing up a bit to stretch out his whole torso. He was on the ground, his frame larger that either of the other two near him. That's when the large shadow of Rashn passed over. The bloody-colored dragon was around a half century older than he, and he had rapidly grown just as he had. They had a small age difference, compared to Elisedd and his. He watched as he hunted one of the cattle, thrusting his tail spikes into one in a strike to kill. But he chuckled in amusement as some of the blood splattered on Sunglow from the backlash. Oh how it would rile the vain little dragon. 'Rashn.'

[/color] He thought, returning the greeting. He was only two or three feet shorter than Rashn at the shoulder, but his neck was a bit longer. He rolled his shoulders, stretching much like a cat. 'This is Sunglow. And Sunglow? So long as they have shaggy coats and very long horns, you can hunt them. It's the sleek, hornless ones you cannot hunt.'[/color] He thought, broadcasting his thoughts to everyone as he settled back to the massive steer he had slain. His thoughts stayed open, listening to his surroundings, and the thoughts of the three dragons around him.

Laemiri was about to respond to Tasia as soon as the commotion broke out. Her mind reached out, trying to make sense of the situation. Her guard was up as she listened to the irriated thoughts broadcasted from that area. She could smell the adrenaline in the air. "Tasia. Would you mind showing me what's happening?" She asked, putting a hand on the young woman's arm. She sighed, getting up from her chair. No way was she going to just sit here. Damn her eyesight. "Would you all just stop?!" She shouted, glaring sightlessly at the elves. "You're acting like a pack of rabid dogs! Now knock it off! You're worse than a bunch of grimey humans, the way you keep fighting! If you can't behave then leave." She nearly growled this last part. The usually peaceful Laemiri had shown the irritation and stress that her illness had put on her. It was how she would react to a particularlly troubling student that wouldn't behave. Normally it was Eitauv that would have the rutheless and brutal reactions to fighting, but today it was her. Was the illness already affecting her mind, by taking away her ability to control her temper?[/size][/blockquote]
