He had studied them while in Illirea and was constantly informed that they held abilities no human could counter. The young warrior needs to eat often, and going to long without a meal will mean passing out for him. The last of his weaknesses belongs to every man. He is extremely weak to the seduction of a beautiful woman. It is an inherited weakness, and is the cause of him and is 14 younger siblings who he live in Carvala.
History:
The story of Toriyuu Doubleblade began 21 years ago. A beautiful woman named Aluna was traveling throughout Alagasea. She was from the south, a city named Aroughs, and she came north to find a new life. Right outside of Carvala she was attacked by a group of thieves. She had a dagger with her, but it was not enough to stop the thieves. They tied her up and took her belongings, and were about tohave their way with her, when a young soldier confronted the thieves. He was stocky, and strong, looking as if he could lift two cows with ease. The soldier was winning the fight, until he was ambushed by more thieves. He was almost overwhelmed, until small purple flashes of light went through the heart of each thief. They came from the woman, who had freed herself and had passed out from the strain.
The man, whose name was lieutenant Arodas, took the woman back to his home. When she woke later that night the two discussed who they were and where they were from. Aluna was attracted to the man, and charmed him quickly. Nine months later they bore a son. After Toriyuu was born his parents began to argue. Arodas was flirting with other woman when he and Aluna were engaged. The fighting ended with Aluna attempting to run away with her son. Arodas allowed her to leave, but she could not take her son. Toriyuu was brought up by his father's three mistress/maids, who would each bare him a child in time to come. When he was five years old his father decided that it was time for him to become a warrior, and he started his training. The young boy hated the hard intense training. It lasted for hours, and fighting grown men left him with plenty of bruises and sores. Every night he would cry when no one was around.
Arodas decided to lock Toriyuu in the castle until he was officially a man. By time he was eight years old he had grown to tolerate his swordsmanship lessons. He had learned to best his father's lesser soldiers and was now instructed by a captain. It was that year that Arodas became a general for Azuan. Because of his new status Toriyuu was forced to begin magic lessons. At first they were frustrating, but after months he he let out a a sky blue spark from his hand and the water exploded out of the tub. After he accomplished this his real training began. It began with reaching the magic, and after he was able to do this he began lifting light objects. After one year of magic tutoring he was sent to train in swordsmanship with the Order of the Riders. The minor spells took him a year to learn, and during this time he learned a lot of the ancient language. After a year of this training, Toriyuu began to get good with magic. He began to learn better spells, and by the age of 14 he knew the ancient language backwards and forwards. He was on par with weak magic users, and this was when the advanced training began. After three years of tough training he was a high level magic user, at least for a human.
After finishing his studies with the Order of Riders Toriyuu returned home to Carvala, where his father introduced him to several other mages, sorcerers, and witches who were loyal to the crown. Originally under the supervision of regular soldiers, the general formed a brigade of magic users that would eventually become an asset to the empires defense. Toriyuu spent the first two years as a member of this brigade practicing his less than stellar swordsmanship, determined to be as skilled in physical combat as he was at the use of magic. Once he turned twenty his father promoted him to lieutenant, and the king gave him the position of ambassador to Illirea. Toriyuu began traveling around the kingdom searching for talented kids to learn with the riders and suitable magic users to join his brigade. He continues to practice his abilities and swordsmanship in hopes of evening out his ability levels.

Incredibly piercing light filled the darkness of a rather spacious room as the night gave way to the morning, and the streets of Carvala were stirred to life. IN the center of the room was a large bed with navy blue canopy covers that did very little to block the brightness of the sun. In the bed laid a young man whose soft, dark brown hair was thrown about comfortable pillows. Slowly his eyes opened as the suns rays touched their lids, and his chestnut brown eyes were looking into the sun through blue silk. Quickly he moved his eyes in surprise, and sat up within the warmth of his covers. Toriyuu yawned rather loudly, while stretching his muscled arms into the air. He was surprised by the presence of the sun because it was still winter, so he rushed out of bed to look out at Carvala.
As Toriyuu walked to his window he was shocked by how warm it was inside his father's manor. His own magical wards and the several fires that were kept going throughout the night always kept the the grandiose home at a stable temperature, but Toriyuu felt as if he could easily break a sweat . Once he reached the window the young man was shocked to see that the snow all around the city has begun to melt, and he could see puddles and slush all about the streets. The people that had already poured into the streets were not wearing the heavy coats that had been necessary just days before, and this excited Toriyuu. He had to set out for Illirea today, and the weather would make the journey's beginning much easier. The ambassador bounced over to one of his large wooden wardrobe and pulled out a blue hooded shirt with white fur inside of the hood. He quickly pulled it over his ivory undershirt, and then grabbed khaki pants and threw them on. Toriyuu then grabbed his thick leather traveling vest, and the rest of his brown leather armor. It was all light, and wouldn't be of much protection in a major fight, but it was very fine. It was a symbol of his importance as a warrior, as a noble, and the laced symbols on the armor showed his allegiance to Illirea.
Toriyuu quickly glanced at himself in the mirror and smiled. With the light of the sun shining in, and without his heaviest winter clothing, The young man could really get a good look at himself. His skin was pale from his last few months in Carvala's cold wintry winds, but his muscles bulged with the constant workouts he had put his brigade through. His black hair hung a little lower than he would have liked, but he refused to cut it until he returned to the true warmth of Illirea. Toriyuu turned away from the mirror quickly when heard the crying of one of his many siblings. The nursemaids must have started waking them up, and he had no intentions of being around once they did. The warrior moved quickly strapping his quiver and bow onto his back, belting on his swords, and raced out of his room down to the kitchens. Part of him felt awful that he was avoiding his younger siblings, who always wanted his time and stories, but he couldn't stand them. They were all younger than ten, and all much more spoiled than he had been allowed to be. They had not been forced to fight, train, or study like he had, and because of it they were all soft. Toriyuu wasn't even sure if any of them would ever display the Talent like the rest of his siblings had. He also had four teenage siblings in Illirea who were studying under the Riders, and these ones he was very close with.
After arriving in the kitchens and receiving a bowl of sugared porridge, boiled eggs, sausage, and grapes Toriyuu began to eat. The young man usually ate with dignity, but while in this familiar kitchen he gobbled his food down ferociously. He wanted to leave soon and maximized the amount of travel that would be done under a warm sun. Once he was done and had thanked the kitchen staff Toriyuu headed for the front door, and bolted out. His father had already left to conference with the King, and Toriyuu didn't care to say goodbye anyway. Toriyuu walked the streets of hightower with a smile as bright as the sun and a strut of nobility. He couldn't remember a time when he had felt this happy in these streets, but he knew it was not Carvala that made him smile. The promise of returning to Illirea, where everyone was taller, where bright and beautiful dragons flew, where children learned, and where everyone was kind and wise, was truly what brought the grin to his face. He was on his way home.
