[Just pretend this wasn't posted till tommorow? xD I didn't have time to get on tommorow and I needed to write tonight.][/blockquote]
The pale hair of the elf man was a startling shock to many. It was less blond than it was white. He had darkly shadowed eyes, and ghostly skin..like ivory. It was night, and the elf's outlandish clothing choices drew many stares. It wasn't that he was......insane, although he was half-way. It wasn't that the elf horse beneath his lithe torso had a coat like rippling, liquid silver..because it did. It wasn't the fiery eyes that seemed to gleam like gemstones. It was the way his mind wandered, like a vine in a well-tended garden, just searching and probing everywhere. Most elves kept their mind's in check. He didn't exactly have the mindset or ability to. It was because he couldn't focus. If he was from this era he could have been diagnosed with ADD, disattachement from reality and schizophrenia. But he wasn't, so he was simply pegged as mentally unstable. He had manners and wasn't unfamiliar with etiquette. He was just......different.
The silver mare beneath him halted at the gates and such beneath the hall where the dragon eggs were held. Her mind, like the elf's, wandered a bit but she at least had coherent thoughts. The elf's was like a barren landscape, shades of gray and tan, like a post-apocalyptic world..nothing but dead trees and desolation. It had whirling thoughts and if those thoughts could have an appearance in the incoherence that was his mind, they'd look like shadowy ghosts and such. Much like a creation from ones mind. He was humming, a somewhat demented tune about locking up a monster with claws for fifty years. His eyes were shadowed as he passed under the lanterns, his gaze meeting those of the elves who worked there.
Stray thoughts could be heard by the elf man before they slammed up their mental walls like icy, crystal shields. 'That's one of the crazy elves from near Ellesmera...., one man had thought. 'Didn't he get disowned by his family?' Another had mused for a moment. But the wandering vine that was Celebnir's mind continued to search and probe about. The humming, throbbing consciousness that was the eggs touched his mind and he felt rather comfortable in it's thrumming rhythm and silence. Of course, he couldn't hear any of them. Just feel their minds deep inside their shells. He ran his long, lithe fingers over the spidery shell of one; feeling the cool, stone-like smoothness. Like a rock from deep within a river, washed smooth by years of weathering.
Another and another passed through his pale appendages, his eyes scanning the patterns and colors of them. Curiosity roamed rampantly in his wandering mind, moving between eggs that caught his attention.
His mind was tugged in a direction though, strangely enough, like a kitten had snagged the tendril of his thoughts and started playing with it. Celebnir turned, looking at an egg that he paced over to silently. A stray thought in the back of his mind reminded him that he had wanted to be a Rider for a long, long time....that he might not be completely there all the time, but he was still sane. But that thought was as brief as a whisper from a sparrow. It wasn't as if he had mental barriers up to bar the dragon hatch-lings in the room from examining his mind to see if he was the one that they could choose mentally and draw to them.
He moved towards it, kneeling down to get a better look at it. He held it in his palms, not cold radiating through this one, but searing heat. He felt a jolt of pain shooting through him, his teeth gritting and his mind crying out. Before he blacked out, he felt another creatures pain jolting through his mind...but maybe he was just crazy?

A time had passed before he had awakened, a dull throbbing in his mind causing him to crack open his eyes. It was as if he was hungover; the all too bright lights, sensitivity to sound, reeling headache....but there was something else.... He was used to his mind feeling unprotected and open, but this was just...raw. Another consciousness blatantly brushed against his, making his mind recoil a bit in shock, for the first time in his life. He searched around with his eyes a moment, his eyes meeting the gem-like eyes of the reptilian creature curled on his chest, a pleasant purring-thrumming noise coming from it's chest. It had two spikes coming from it's head, and leathery wings folded against it's sides. Celebnir's mind was shocked, and he was a bit stunned. But one thought came through loud and clear.... 'Wow....'
