At the end of the world, or the last thing I see
You are never coming home
The chestnut and copper locks of the elf woman flowed around her as she walked into the building. She hadn't been to Ilirea since she was a child, studying under the Riders. Her strange grey eyes surveyed the room that she was about to enter. Many eggs were here, in every shade of every color under the sun. Pausing, she stopped, not entering yet. She had gained clearance to be here, but she was nervous. After all, should one of these eggs hatch for her, she would have to leave Ellesmera.......leave her garden and the quiet solitude she had enjoyed since...since her parents had passed on...
She steeled herself, forcing herself into the room. Her pale green dress hung about her, making nary a noise as her leather clad feet moved softly across the tiles. She allowed herself to stop in front of a red egg, the color of fall leaves, gently lifting it. Her fingers ran over the smooth, cool surface, her grey eyes scanning the marbled pattern it had. She gently rested it back into it's nest, moving on to another. The color of spring grass. This one was a bit larger than the red, heavier too. She rested it back into it's nest as well, moving on. She held them all, taking a few hours to move through.
She even went by the section where all the older eggs had been. All the ones that had been moved towards the 'back' of the pile. She ran her palm over a egg a rich shade of violet, almost black it was so deep a color. She raised it, amused by the bright lines of lilac that crossed through it. It made her smile, quite frankly. Such little things amused her now, like a butterfly that had managed to reach this room, landing on an egg that she hadn't yet touched. She rested the violet egg back in it's nest, moving on to the other. She raised the egg, her eyes looking it over softly, a curious expression in her eyes.
A violent and sharp pain cracked through her skull as soon as the egg reached its nest again. She dropped to the ground, blackness engulfing her soon afterwards. She didn't know how long she had been unconscious when she finally awakened again. All she seen at first was the bright and colorful wings of the butterfly. While she had been under the veil of sleep it had landed on her nose. A giggle almost burst through her, until a sharp pain in her skull stopped her. It fanned its wings once or twice more before a dart of color came out of nowhere and the butterfly disappeared. Her grey eyes went wide as she craned her neck forward, a pair of brilliant eyes like gemstones meeting hers. 'I....' Her mind was going blank as the creature on her chest stared at her in amusement. About time you woke up!' The thoughts that weren't hers invaded her mind, a perverse sense of having no privacy made her a bit uneasy. Her hand reached out tenativly, stretching to touch the young dragon on her chest. As soon as her fingertips reached the shimmering scales she cried out in pain, the noise in her head deafening her as a shock of pain jolted down her arm, throughout every nerve in her body, and caused her to go unconscious.[/color]
