Danger... Danger... Danger (Open:Rider)

Okay, so my sister could kill me if she really wanted to. I had never told her my love for the dragons, how I wanted to be a part of them, but it was a amazing how none had been seen in a while, so here I was traveling through a trail in the Spine, hoping to find one and it's rider. Maybe I would gain some luck. Doubtful though, I never had the best of luck when I was looking for something, but when I was not even thinking about something, it always showed up, it was funny how that kind of thing worked. I shrugged it off and looked around some before I continued on into the spine.

I had left my horse at a small village at the bottom of the spine, had told my scout to take it back to Caravala, but not to tell my sister where I was, either of them. I had left my chain mail also and my armor, leaving me to look like a normal hunter. I had taken my sword, it was on my hip and my two daggers which were hidden in my boots. I also had my bow, which would allow me to at least gain some supper for the evening, since I knew this trek would possible last longer then a few days.

I turned as I heard something, my own mind was running through what it could be... A wolf possible... A wild dragon... Too many things that could kill me, but I would fight until I was dead. I heard a snap of a branch and turned, before my feet was a small white pup, a wolf pup, skinny and scared. I had a heart for any animal and I looked around, knelt down and held my hand out, jumping slightly before I pulled out some jerky and gave the pup some. "Now, I don't think I want to meet you momma, so you can come with me pup."

[/color] It would give her something to look after, but as he stood, he heard something else and turned quickly. "How yourself!"[/color] His bow was drawn back, ready for action.

Silence, the forest was quiet now, the dim light of evening only enhanced her Brynja snuck through the spine, heading to a friend's house again. She enjoyed being stealthy, it allowed for her to sneak around with no detection at all. SHe sensed something, something that was for sure not a wild animal, something with sentience. She crouched low, bow at the ready. Whoever it was, she would not fight unless they attacked her. Her forest green cloak blended in with the underbrush and the trees. She nocked an hour and readied herself, moving towards whoever had spoken. Emerald green eyes were harsh, gleaming in the low light of the evening. Her eyes glanced around and she moved closer.

The man heard her, and her eyes narrowed as she stood up, rising out of the underbrush, hand at the ready by her bow. She said nothing, and thank goodness for her silence, for if she had spoken, he might have shot, and she would have barely managed to escape. Brynja was nimble, being an elf, but even very few elves could avoid a loosed arrow. Her body was tense, but her cloak hid her feminine frame. The cloak was baggy and hid her figure well; that was her saving grace.

I let his brown eyes run over the forest, looking for anything out of place. The pup was at my feet, cowering as if his mother had just punished him. I turned my eyes down at him and let out a breath, lowering my bow slightly. ”If you are human or elf, show yourself!”

[/color] I knew elves roamed within’ the spine and my sister, Leilani, had been able to convince my to respect them. I also knew dragon riders were in these parts and I kind of hoped it was a dragon rider, but I some how doubted it completely. I looked around for a moment and then stood up straight, lowering my boy further and replacing the arrow into it holder and then placing my bow over my shoulder.

”Probably nothing more then a mouse rustling the leaves… What do you think?[/color] I looked down at the wolf pup who looked at me and I picked the young animals up and turned to head on up the trail. I still had until sunset to travel and I was going to continue. As I moved, I still felt like someone was following me or watching me. I was not completely sure, but with my free hand, I unlocked the dagger that was hidden up my sleeve from it holder and held the tip between two fingers. I looked around slowly and then went up a small deer trail, checking some tracks and smiling… We would both need some food and this was a small deer and alone by the tracks. I put the pup down, tied a rope around his neck and his back to make sure he did not get strangled and removed my bow and a arrow. I would have this pup trained by time I returned to the castle.
