((Note: The dating system is six hundred years behind the current Gregorian calendar used by the USA. Thus, 397 After Tuatha de Dannan, or, 397 AT, are equal to the year 997 in the medieval era. To convert from AT to BBRW, simply add three hundred fifty years, so that 400 AT becomes 750 BBRW ))
The Dynastic Wars of Hibernia, to outsiders, or to Hibernians or Gaels themselves, are also known as “When that damned High King died and left us holdin’ the bag!”
In the Gaelic dating system, 397 AT, High King of Hibernia, King of Alba, King of Sassana, and Prince of Cyrmy, Eideard mac Alpin de Tara, or Edward MacAlpin of Tara, died, leaving three different wills, of which at least two were forgeries. In 400 AT, the Boar King of Ulster was born. His father had been named High King in the true will, but murdered during the First of the Dynastic Wars. Neal de Frazier and Gordon mac Douglas, were the murderers. However, as soon as Stewart mac Laren was dead, they promptly turned on each other, each declaring as High King. The Boar King, one Fearghus mac Laren, at age nineteen, declared his intentions of taking back his rightful throne, that of High King. Of the hundred clans in Hibernia, fully forty threw their weight behind him, making his bid for High King extremely likely. With forty one, including the MacLarens behind him, Fearghus had taken almost all of Hibernia, save for Tara and Connacht, when his grandson, Sean Sviodson MacLaren was born. The son of a Skandian warrior mercenary and the Boar King’s daughter, Sean went with his grandfather everywhere on campaign, including the battle field. However, the Albans and Sassanans, tired of Hibernian hegemony, threw their weight behind the Boar King’s opponents. Armed with Alban Highlanders and Sassanan longbow men, Neal de Frazier and Fearghus mac Laren met on the field of Tara, in the year 432 AT. Both died, along with countless warriors. The power of Clan MacLaren was broken for good. Sean, after seeing his father and grandfather both die in the same day, rode for their castle, where his two year old brother, mother, and sisters were burning with it. After arriving, seeing the charred and smoking ruins, rode for the castle home of his love, Heather O’Dea. It too, was burning. Sean took ship for Alagaësia soon after, and this is why he cannot love, at least for now. Now 29 years, Sean is a Senior Sergeant in the Savage Faithful, a foreigner unit in the military of the human kingdom.
