Few races are comparable to the elves.
They are two sides of the same coin- serene and savage, beautiful and terrible, human and beast. Keepers of the forests ever since Wyrdfell, they usually prefer to remain in Du Weldenvarden, as mixing with other races changes them, makes them less noble. Despite being one of the most physically beautiful races with unmatched artisans, they are anything but perfect. Tainted by mixing with a multitude of races ever since they were driven from Alalea and swollen with pride from their victories in war, they are a cruel, egotistical people that are rarely kind-hearted.
However, this would be entirely unknown if the elves had not just been involved in a savage war. They are fond of pursuing beauty, with knowledge being a close second, and many elves devote their lives to all forms of art, scholarly leanings, and their own physical beauty. Their greatest love is music and dancing, and few elves can go without it. However, elves also possess a love of danger, which is where the nefarious Grand Game comes into play. They pursue power just as strongly as they do beauty, and engage themselves in the Grand Game- a truly deadly political dance that everyone in Du Weldenvarden, whether they like it or not, must play.
Physically, elves are rarely flawed, with severe but still beautiful features suited to their lithe, tall forms. Their hair is usually solid black or pure white, though variations are not uncommon, and their eyes may be any hue of the rainbow, and are often something exotic such as violet or golden. Their skin is free of blemishes and nearly always a dusky golden, as most elves spend a great amount of time outdoors. Many elves, however, are fond of taking anthropomorphic forms, such as wolves or birds.
Staff Notes on the Elves-
- The bare minimum for a teenaged/young adult elf is eighty. Remember, people, Arya is a little under 100 and she's considered as very young. Also, we won't accept elves older than 1000- yes, they're immortal, but it saves us from having to deal with a super-powered 50 000-year-old elf and saves you the trouble of fleshing out a history that long. XD
- Being an elf does not make you perfect. Your elf character must have flaws.
- Half-elves are one of the most difficult concepts to be accepted by staff due to the very prevalent hatred between elves and humans. Please see the Note on Half-Elves in the Announcements board before deciding to make one.
