Of the many elusive races in Alagaësia, werecats are probably the most elusive. They reside away from other kinds, and rarely emerge to interact, let alone live with them. However, some of these few werecats, though not all, find an extraordinary individual, human or elf, which they choose to follow. Most, however, prefer to strike out on their own, going wherever their fancy takes them. They are not loyal to anyone, except an elected ‘king’ in times of war or other strife. They are long-lived, but not immortal, and not native to Alagaësia, which is made obvious by their sharp features when in human form and unconventional magic, such as shape-shifting and telepathy.
Werecats use two known forms. The first, and largely their most preferred, is their natural, feline appearance, in which case they are entirely indistinguishable from a regular cat. Their human form, which they may take for any reason, is very small, averaging five feet, with eyes, hair, and skin of any colour. Their features, however, remain very feline, such as sharp teeth, slitted pupils, and severe bone structure.
Staff Notes on Werecats-
- Some of you may know that a ton about werecats will be revealed in Book 4 of Inheritance, and that they’ll play a big part in defeating Galby. Since we’ve supposedly only seen an inkling of what they can do as well as their established rarity, there’s going to be a limit on them. There are currently no werecats.
