When we arrived at Tontoe’s shop I stepped off into the shadows once I was sure Both Lana and Awiti were all set. Making sure I handed enough gold to Lana so that she could buy anything she needed then and there. Once I was sure I was no longer needed I went to the corner of his shop and stood in mediation. Opening my mind up to the world around me. First I felt the soft dirt underneath my feet, moving ever so slowly, as if it were a living creature itself. Then The breeze blew by the tent rustling the tent’s flaps as well as my hair that was all put up how Awiti had done it earlier, half of it being braided, while the rest of it was in a long pony tail. This was the world I knew and the elements I knew the best, the ones I had the most contact with in my life, and so they were the only ones I ever reached out for as I grounded myself to my body, as my own mind slipped in and out off all the creatures around me.
As Awiti looked over to me from the basket of lemons I only nodded my head, saying out in the open. “ If it is what you wish for princess, then get it.” And with a smile I went back to my mediations, feeling a birds mighty wings as if they were my own, flapping over the city of Ilirea, looking for a home to make there to raise its young. It was like this for most of those that I touched minds with for it was the very beginning of spring, when new life was born and brought into the world as we knew it. It was the time of happiness and peace.
“ A fine eye you have my dear lady.” Tontoe said as he watched Lana closely. “ If you were an elf I just may have taken you as a bride.” He teased as she went examine the vegetables and other foods around the shop. He hopped she did not find his joke insulting, but with humans you never knew, they were such rash creatures after all. Then again my own race was not the kindest, look what we realesed in after all. The Games as we called them was no more then killing ourselves without calling it murder, yet even I could not deny the enjoyment I got out of seeing these rare matches of skills and intelligence when I was myself in the great forest.
Darek watched all from the corner of the tent, but mostly he kept an eye on Awiti and the lemon she held in her hand. “ Such an odd choice, I wonder why she chose it?” Darek said as he watched her with interest as she told Lana that the wanted some. Lana to was confused so I knew then that it was not some inside food that they ate in the castle often. But in the end seeing the smile on Awiti’s face with the lemon in her mouth was worth it as Lana paid for them. “ Well it seems I am not the only one with an odd appetite now in this house lady Awiti.” I laughed as I looked at the bright yellow lemon in her mouth that was showing a beaming smile that could very well put the sun to shame. “ You are a hard bargainer but fine, you wont be so lucky tomorrow though Lana. I shall be just opening when you arrive.” Tontoe teased at Lana as they agreed on a price for all the food.
“ An hour later as the night air began to blow in I called up the stairs to Awiti. “ Awiti my child come on down, you have much to see.” I called up to her as if she were a young child of five summers old. I had promised to take her out into the garden before the day was through and so knowing how the lights of Ilirea and the architecture of the city worked I waited until this moment when it would bring out the beauty of my small garden the most to bring her out into it. “ Awiti, are you coming? “ Darek called up as he opened the door to his garden. “ If not I will have to sit in the garden myself.” Darek chided knowing how much she wished to see it.
