Name: Katsune Haruhei
Age: 21
Race: Human.
Occupation: Eastern Blacksmith (Experianced) /Wandering Craftsman/Mercinary
Allegiance: Unaligned currently.
Physical Description:
(Ohhh yes, Face Claim is Aoshi from the Anime/Manga Rurouni Kenshin)
Katsune is a very lean looking guy, he does not have excessive muscle mass, but he does have he musculature of a swordsman. He has brown hair, a sharp chin, piercing green eyes, and a sort of impassive face. He has no sort of hair for some biological reason, meaning he couldn't grow a beard or mustache if he wanted to.
Katsune has a long cream colored jacket with a high, orange collar that he ALWAYS wears. Around it at the waist is a long leather belt that is obviously to long as it dangles from the sides even when fully pulled tight. This serves to make Katsune look cooler. In this belt he keeps his Kodatchi, always there and always ready for action. He also keeps his Blacksmithing tools there and can actually use them to fight with. He wears long, purpleish pants with two pockets, and finally he wears black shoes. On his hands he wears two, open fingered gloves, for better grip on his sword and to help with forging.
Personality:
Ever since his fathers death, Katsune has been sort of different from what he was like before. Before, he was care free, he played with his friends alot, he worked with a firey passion, and he nearly almost always smilled. Even then he usually didn't cry, even when he accidentaly bashed his finger with his hammer, or touched a to hot piece of metal. Back then he was truly happy.
And then his father died. After that he usually never smiled anymore, his eyes were colder and much more sharp than before. He rarely went out to play, and he focused solely on his metal working techniques as well as his sword play. He became sullen, depresed, and he never usually showed his emotions to people, and thus became adept at hiding his emotions.
Because of the training in weaponry his father gave him, Katsune knows how to use most forms of weaponry that he can make. Katana, Naginata, Kenabo, you name it, he can use it. However his favorite tool is his Kodatchi, one of his very first works. He has constantly improved it with new forging techniques as he learned them, and thus made the blade extremely sharp and hard.
History:
Katsune Haruhei was born in a land far to the east of Alagaesia. It is a land with its own rich culture, heritage, and magic of its own. Katsune was born the son of the village Blacksmith, and thus at an early age, around four, he was initiated into the craft of the Blacksmith. In the eastern country, being a Blacksmith is an important job, they make all the tools that a village needs, and also weapons to protect them from wild animals and bandits and other such things.
At the age of eight, it was apperent that Katsune had a knack for Blacksmithing, and at age ten, that talent began to come into full bloom. At age twelve, his father begain to teach him how to fight with the various weapons they made, most notiabley the fine sword known as the Kodatchi katana. Though he was a slow learner at this art, Katsune gradually got better and better.
At the age of fourteen however, his father was dying. He had a fatal heart disease that wasn't very well understood, and all the village healer could do for him was ease his pain. With his dying words, Katsune's father bade him to go out into the world, and become a better blacksmith than he ever could be. With teary eyes and many sobs, Katsune promised his father that he would. And with that, his father died.
Something happened to Katsune after that incident, he never smilled anymore, his eyes were dull, and he seemed to lack energy. Even his Blacksmithing work was getting sloppy. It was understandable, his father had taught him everything he knew, and was a close friend as well as a parental figure. It was a sad time for Katsune, untill one of his close friends gave him a much needed kick in the pants (quite litterally). She told him to stop moaping around and get to work, after all, his father had left his legacy to him.
After that, Katsune slowly crawled his way out of his depression, and his work got better and better. At age fifteen, he decided to leave the village to follow his fathers will. After finding a replacement smith and getting some of the tools of his trade, Katsune got on the first boat out to the "New Lands". The boat was headed off to some place called Alagaesia. . . wherever that was.
It took about a year to reach the land. By then tales of dragons, magic, beings known as "Riders", and other such things had sunk in. What he had gathered was that the riders were teachers and scholars, but were distrusted because of a certain event. Though Katsune decided he didn't hate nor mistrust the riders, he didn't trust them either. Call it being neutral towards them.
At age sixteen Katsune set foot on the land. It was a vast and huge land, and also a very confusing one at times. There was one thing Katsune understood though. The art of Blacksmithing. Taking up residence in a local town, he started up his craft again. However the swords here were. . odd. They had two edges for cutting, and were kind of weak. All Katsune could make were Katana and other such "Eastern" style weapons and tools.
All the while Katsune had been practicing with his weapons, and most notably had a single Kodatchi on him wherever he went. Unfortunately he was forced out at age seventeen for false accusations. Now all Katsune does is drift from city to city. Recently he has started to hire himself out as a mercinary as well as an independent craftsman. Four years have passed since that day. . . Who knows where his next travels will bring him?
